The property is absolutely gorgeous, clean and beautifully decorated. The house keeping staff keep the rooms maintained exceptionally. It really is an oasis for us in Rome. The breakfast with Gina is so wonderful .
I love the property . We have been used to giving tips as we go along . Now there is a discretionary tip applied to the parting bill and I feel this is an additional expense to accommodation that is already of a higher cost. Of course the staff are worth it … I just like paying for things included .

We have been visiting /staying at this venue most years over the last 16. The location is very pleasant, being central whilst quiet. We received an upgrade from a Superior room on check in.
Oh dear. How desperately sad. We have held this hotel and particularly Mirabelle restaurant in great esteem, hence our many visits. This time, our impression was of tired decor not particularly clean and a soul less room.
The Mirabelle food was average and so dissapointing for a restaurant whos' cuisine we have consistantly receommended and returned to over many years.
Canapes were no longer offered, my foie gras dish overcomplicated, as was my husband's tartare. Lobster for which there was a 30 Euro supplement was just boring, the beef ok. Dinner was over 500 Euro for two courses plus a shared cheese plate, a glass of Sauternes, one glass of vintage champagne and one glass of Brunello.
The room bill of over 1,000 Euro for two nights......
In short, the Splendide is in desperate need of a refurbishment, particularly the rooms and corridors and the Mirabelle needs a shot in the arm. The price for both is just not providing cost to benefit any longer and, if it wishes to remain competitive in a fierce market and on both counts, a serious re think is required.
We shall be staying elsewhere in future, with great sadness.

I had the pleasure of spending two unforgettable nights at Hotel Splendide Royal, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt as if I had been transported into a world of timeless elegance and intimacy.
The room was beautifully designed—spacious, refined, and filled with small details that made it feel personal rather than just luxurious. Waking up to the soft light coming through the windows and the view of Rome’s greenery was something truly special.
What really stood out, however, was the atmosphere of the hotel itself. It’s not just a place to stay—it feels like being welcomed into a historic Roman residence where every corner tells a story. The staff carried themselves with a perfect balance of professionalism and warmth, making me feel genuinely cared for during my entire stay.
Breakfast on the terrace was an experience of its own: sitting above the rooftops of Rome, sipping coffee, and watching the city slowly come alive beneath the morning sun. It was magical in every sense of the word.
Two nights here felt both too short and perfectly complete—a retreat full of beauty, calm, and a touch of romance. Hotel Splendide Royal didn’t just host me; it gave me memories I will carry with me for a very long time.

The location of the hotel was good, walking distance to the Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps and a number of restaurants.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was comfortable and clean.
The room had the European 2 pin socket as well as a 3 pin square socket.
The breakfast could have had more options.

Beautiful views from Mirabelle restaurant and fabulous meal.
The rooms are slightly dated.
There is no mirror, except in the bathroom.
Nowhere other than the bathroom to do makeup and get dressed.
No full length mirror.
No iron or ironing board available.
Breakfast was very limited.
No indoor bar to sit at in the evening.

Lovely traditional hotel near the Borghese gardens and Spanish Steps. Staff members were exceptionally attentive. Views from the breakfast room, Mirabelle restaurant and rooftop bar were lovely.
There was nothing not to like.

location
Alarm light in the room is blinking all the night red, very annoying. The sensor light in the minibar can see you whenever passing near by during the night meaning it wakes up all the members sleeping. Breakfast buffet under poor performance, under expectation. The wooden floor in the rooms very very slippery, quite dangerous specially for he kids.
