Location is great. The building is old and there is an unpleasant smell in the corridor as no ventilation. Front desk staff are friendly and speak perfect English. Breakfast is good but the staff is cold.

The hotel is the heart of Palermo and one can walk many places from there. The receptionists were excellent and VERY helpful. This hotel was the starting point for ur trip and made a very good start to the next 10 days.

Breakfast is basic nothing special. Room is clean but elevator is nor in proper condition.
Location is perfect.

The breakfast was very good with a full range of cereals, milks (whole, skim, lactose free, almond, oat, soy), eggs (to order if requested), meats, cheeses, breads, sweets, etc., in very beautiful rooms. The location is both positive and negative—centrally located near Quattro Canti, easy walking to most sites but also very congested to an unpleasant degree. That said, we still might choose it over quieter, more modern locations near Opera or Teateo Massimo. The old center where the hotel is located is much more beautiful even though it is congested and noisy (given the street noise, the hotel is surprisingly quiet inside).
We were graciously upgraded to a junior suite when we were unhappy with our booke superior rooms. The suite’s windows were onto a small street/alley way and a few feet across from a family’s balcony on a neighboring building so we kept the shutters closed most of the time. Few rooms have much view, but the hotel is beautiful and gracious given that the rooms are not always so well maintained (e.g., some of the ceiling lighting around the rooms’ soffit was not working in the first superior room we were shown and in the second room in the junior suite we were given), but overall we were happy with the rooms and the hotel—just not ideal.

Access by car is extremely challenging (booking.com should not offer this hotel for travelers with a rental car). The Wifi was mostly not accessible to our Apple devices (hotel staff noted that they have access with Apple devices). Several areas of the hotel require the use of stairs (not ADA compliant).
The hotel probably has seen some good times in its past. Nowadays, booking.com should not advertise this hotel as 4-star (probably around a 2-star). The value for money ratio is terrible.

Right at the historical center. We walked not more than 7 minutes to each attraction. Beautiful property, super comfortable beds, great shower. Very quiet- you hear nothing when going to sleep. Wonderful breakfast. Staff very helpful & polite. We had a rental car and driving through the city is difficult. Hotel has a parking garage but to access it, we drive in super narrow streets. I was ok with that since i am from a city that has narrow streets, but for Americans this will be a challenge. Palermo historical center is very challenging to drive in. I super recommend this hotel, and i am super thankful that we chose it among others .

Room was roomy. Good AC. The front desk staff and house-keeping staff was very professional and helpful. Excellent front desk staff.
Personally I don't like the showers that you have to do "by hand", without a permanent shower head. The bed was comfortable but not great. The breakfast was good, but if you were ONE minute past their breakfast time, they didn't allow you to grab some food.
