Perfect location to discover old downtown!
All within 10 minutes walk...
The water pressurer is a bit noisy, but not really an issue.

Only the location
The apartment was listed as 70 m², but in reality it was about 30–35 m², don’t expect to have a sea view The photos suggested there were two rooms, but it’s actually a small one-bedroom. There was no water for the last two days, and the provided instructions did nothing. Only two towels were available for five nights. Items like sugar, paper towels, and drying rack were also missing.
The worst part was that the host entered the apartment every day while I was away, without my permission, claiming she needed access to a supply closet. On top of that, she even left a message asking me not to leave a mess — which was both disrespectful and unnecessary, as I would never leave a place dirty. It felt like a constant lack of privacy and trust.

Not much
The owner was harassing me asking for cash, even after I had paid with digital transfer, she was rude and pushy. There was no parking anywhere close by, the profile said there was. The street and neighbours were making noise to all hours. The location didn’t feel safe as it’s directly across from an abandoned building in a bad neighbourhood.

The host is very lovely and friendly, and very on point. Me and my mum really enjoyed our stay, and we had lots of space all around.

Nice sized apartment.
Well organized staff.
Decent level of comfort inside for the price.
AC in common room.
Apartment is right on the edge of a "So-So" neigborhood. A bit of a slummy area, but not far from nice areas.
Good for budget travelers who are willing to be in a little bit of a grungy/sketchy neighborhood adjacent to nice areas in order to get more space or save money..
2nd AC is needed in bedroom, space too large to be cooled completely with just the AC in the common area.

The property itself was lovely, Palermo in general is quite a run down place however the people were lovely, and the place was clean and had almost everything we needed.
I didn’t like that there were areas of the property locked off which was unusual and the fact the oven didn’t work as it had been broken wasn’t ideal. It would be good if them to fix this as Palermo didn’t really do any meals which didn’t require an oven as convenient meals.

Poor
The situation of the place is perfect, close to the harbour and centre.
The house was superficially cleaned, but we found old food (fish) in the oven so the smell was horrible. The owner had opened all windows when we came, asked immediately for the full payment in cash and was not seen until after we contacted her about the rugged sink, a mattress that was more a hammock and about the smell. Even after cleaning the old fish we could only stay leaving all windows open. Probably the furniture was previously used in a smokers pub. She cleaned 3 days later, leaving the windows open and taking all but 1 towel away.
We loved Palermo but cannot recommend staying at that house at all.

The apartment is a 9 minute walk to the Palermo port. We picked this apartment because our ferry was leaving at 2.30 am on our second night in Palermo.
LOCATION
- the neighbourhood is sketchy: it’s pretty dirty with collapsed building around, and the only night I parked my rental car on the street, someone vandalised the passenger door with a key. We ended up paying €165 for the damage. It’s a shame since I could have returned it the night before but the owner told us it was safe to park in the neighbourhood.
- Most interesting places to visit were all 25/30 minutes away by foot, and given the extreme heat in Palermo in the summer, it was almost impossible to reach these monuments with my kids. For the same price or a few extra dollars, you could get an apartment much closer to the historical center.
APARTMENT
- there was no AC in the bedroom, so my husband and I “slept” on the single beds in the living room. The beds were horrible, the bed was swinging and it felt like the bed feet were going to break every time we moved. When I addressed the issue to the owner, she told me it they were expensive therapeutic beds …
- the bedsheets and towels are extremely old and rough! The owner charges €20/person for them, so customers deserve better!
- The bedcover in the bedroom was dirty.
- the kitchen is old and not practical.
- there is no bathmat in the bathroom, but an old and dirty doormat by the shower instead!!!
- I found a dead roach (small one) in the bathroom, so it made me wonder is there were more hiding in the kitchen and bathroom.

Nothing to like really about the apartment. Shame as it ended up being purely functional. You never lose . you either win or learn & we've learnt the hard way. Shame as the one thing we loved was Sicily. Stunning country.
By far the worst & most deceiving place I have ever booked thru booking.com or any company actually. The private host collected us from the airport €40 and to be quite honest that was a fair price but you would have never found the apartment any other way. We went up the dingy stairs into the flat and at first glance it looked fine. We went to the balcony I was horrified by the view, of course there are no pics up there of this view by the hosts. Downstairs was a car garage & from morning till night constant noise. We were definitely in the worst part of town - 15 minute walk to the good parts.
We waited 3 days for a plug to be delivered as we could not have a bath without. Told to use the shower – pic att of the water coming out of the shower. No shower or bath for 3 days We could not use the oven as the oven door was put on back to front. How to believe - pic uploaded. Hosts have another flat and those are the pics they use on booking.com not the one we stayed in which was quite simply awful and if I had time I would file for compensation.
We were told because our flight was in the evening that if we wanted to stay after checkout time at 10:30 AM we would have to pay 20€. We said that was fine as an option. I messaged the lady and said we left the apartment we are not going to have the extended option and she sent me abusive texts demanding €50. Hard to believe but I will be submitting the screenshots of the texts that she sent us to booking.com customer services as they were remarkably abusive.
Bedding was absolutely awful; the fitted sheet did not fit the bed so we ended up sleeping on the undercover which was plastic. There were lots of holes in the blankets – pic uploaded one of which I've listed up as a pic. Picture the frame they had on the walls displaying a booking.com 8.6 rating, they are newly listed, and I wonder if they falsified this rating card they had hanging up. It was dated as 2014 !!!

Pleasant
Everything was clean and comfortable. A bit away from city centre so no disturbing noise during the nights.
You need to set a timer to heat the water in the shower. We weren't informed so there were a few cold showers unfortunately until we figured it out
