The hosts were warm and welcoming, and for breakfast they provided perfectly made espresso coffees with fresh croissants, and bespoke rolls with a choice of filling. This place has a lovely courtyard with a huge elm tree in the middle where we can sit with our coffees and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The location is quite close to Metro, but not in the center. It's an urban residential neighborhood close to a main thoroughfare.
The hosts are both peppy and informative. The breakfast choices were decent, and they accommodated dietary needs. That said, the breakfast might get a little tired after a few days, but we weren't there long enough to know.
The shower seemed a little hazardous and probably could use anti slip measures for the step into it.

Hosts, nicola and matteo, were very kind and liked to take care guests. Breakfast was good to start the day with fun. It was a kind of simple meal, a glasss of juice, a cup of coffee, sandwich and croissant. But it was very tasty. I and my wife asked one more croissant, one more coffee, respectively. Easy to go to city center via metro, about 5-minute walking to metro station. Good choce considering high expensive hotel in the city center.
No fridge. Not good sound-proof.

Kind welcome of Matteo,
Free bottle of water in the room
Gorgeous breakfast with apricot croissant, small salami sandwiches, choice of fruit and special Easter attention : 2 slices of Colomba brioche.
The fact that I could keep the room until 3pm, what Matteo proposed to me spontaneously, due to the fact the hotel was not very busy during this period.
Hotel is close (3 mn.walk) to Metro line 1, which goes directly to Milan downtown (15 mn)
No parking, but easy parking for free in the near area
Meraviglie restaurant is 6 mn. walk only and it is fantastic experience.

Would be nice to have an electric kettle in the room or at least at disposal in the patio.
Most hotels provide it nowadays, what is nice to prepare herbal tea that helps to sleep before going to bed ! ??

Very kind and welcoming hosts. The garden is amazing. The location is not too close the city center but with subway ~20 mins. The size of the room is spacious enough. The neighborhood is also good.
Maybe the location is not perfect but it takes only 20 minutes to reach Duomo.

Il GIRASOLE is a truly exceptional place to stay. You immediately notice that this place was designed with love. A little paradise in the middle of the city. Matteo and Nicola are lovely hosts. If you are looking for a standard hotel, this is not the place for you.

The hosts are the BEST people you will ever meet in Milan! Matteo and Nicola are hands down the most amazing people that made our short stay exceptional. No frills room. All the things you need are provided. Access to the train, quiet neighborhood, we felt safe and were treated like family. Words are not enough to describe the hospitality we have experienced in this stay.
There is nothing to like. We fell in love with Matteo and Nicola!

Excellent stylish B&B (apparently refurbished old factory) in north of Milan, far away from the hustle but easy access through metro (station less than 500m on foot). Fantastic friendly hosts. Good breakfast. Spacious rooms.
Not so much typical for this B&B but a general experience in southern Europe is the inability to switch off the airco - as it is centrally organized. The noise of the airco made it difficult for me to fall asleep. After changing rooms this was pretty much solved.

The kind of hospitality at the Il Girasole is beyond fantastic. Super welcoming, kind, helpful and informative. The room was very spacious, had a mini-kitchen and everything was very clean. I highly recommend this place for people who are visiting Milan for a few days!
The only downside if the location, which is a little bit out of the city centre. But there is a direct metro line connecting to the centre, and the closest station is 5 minutes away from the Il Girasole.
