Wonderful
The location is perfect and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The mattress is a little overused and not firm enough to support a proper sleep.

Beautiful and spacious room - loved the 3rd floor balcony - excellent location close to everything, especially the Duomo.
Elevator was too small and claustrophobic.
Our air conditioner stopped working, but staff were able to fix it.

Loved the Location, Room, Shower, Free Drinks, Staff (super friendly and helpful)!
Throw in some free breakfast since the price was expensive per night.
A better (bigger, more obvious) sign to identify/locate the hotel, as we walked past it every time. In the rain, it was frustrating walking past the hotel by accident.

Very Good
Location is exceptional. Room was specious and clean but furniture is outdated. Included breakfast was served in the nearby restaurant and was excellent. Staff was very friendly.
Outdated furniture in the room.

Everything was perfect! The property checked on us after we landed in Rome and made sure we knew where to go. They answered every question with so much kindness! The location was PERFECT! You are right by all of the main sign seeing places and amazing food. I am 100% going to stay here again next time I am in Florence. Plus the beds were so comfortable and there are so many little gems throughout the building, like a balcony, library and amazing views!

We would rate this hotel an 11 if we could! We brought a group on a tour of Italy and everyone felt it was the best hotel by far. Stellar location right next to the Medici Palace, very near the Mercato Centrale, steps from the Baptistry and Duomo, and with views overlooking the Piazza San Lorenzo. The building has so much character; tastefully adapted from a renaissance monastery. The large library they've adapted into an interesting lounge area is so cool, historic and fun. They gave us each a complimentary drink to enjoy there when we arrived. Leonardo da Vinci lived in the building! Every one of the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful e.g. they cheerfully called a taxi for us which arrived right out front within seconds. The breakfast, half a block away at La Menagère, was mind blowingly good. The windows are very well sound-proofed. To top it all off, the beds were divine; best rest of the trip!
Some might consider the elevator a little small, but it's quite standard for Florence (and many hotels don't even have one!). The front desk isn't staffed between 8 pm and 9 am (at least when we stayed in March), but the room card works reliably to open the main door after hours and they give you a number to call in case of emergency.

I loved my stay at The Artists Palace! Even though it was on the lively piazza, my room was very quiet and soundproof with a gorgeous view of the cathedral! The beds were very comfortable! Fantastic, central location! I would highly recommend staying here!
Nothing!

The heart of Florence! This was a fantastic place for our family. One giant room where the four of us slept comfortably.
The heat of Florence really took a toll on us and the room A/C units had a hard time keeping up. It was record high temps so maybe unusual.

Love the location, staff and history of the hotel.
Elevator is small so expect to use stairs a lot. Not a problem for my wife and I as we actually prefer stairs.
