My family and I stayed for over a month at the Piccolo Residence Apartments and we LOVED it. From booking, to arriving, our stay, and our departure, the Piccolo staff exceeded our every expectation.
The apartments are fantastic. They have air conditioning, refrigerators with freezer, small stove, sink, a small smart tv, very large full bathroom, kitchen table, and all dish ware. The cleaning staff is so sweet and the owner, Taro, is truly a kind person. It was an absolute pleasure to be a resident at his property.
Let me not forget to mention the location! Incredible! Via Ricasoli is the perfect street to stay on. Steps from the Duomo but still far enough off that it feels private. There are great restaurants with one of the top gelato places in the city. There is a grocery store that sells ice on the street and a café with the most delicious croissants literally next-door at number 21.
We would not choose a different place to stay and can’t wait to return to Florence!
Everything was perfect

Wonderful
This was a great find. Large, well maintained and easily accessible to Florence sights including the Duomo. The property manager, Taro was so helpful and made our stay so enjoyable. He provided assistance and when we arrived late due to train issues, Taro welcomed us. Loved the courtyard. The apartment was comfortably cool and all amenities were in working order.
The apartment could use a little updating for aesthetic appeal, however it was very comfortable and convenient.

• very secure building & apartment.
• host is very welcoming and informative.
• well equipped kitchen area and bathroom.
• good aircon and heating.
• amazing location 2 minutes from the Duomo and a supermarket 1 minute down the road.

• TV with amazon prime, etc.
• room was cleaned during our stay.
• bathroom could have done with a uplift/cleaning better however this didn’t affect our stay.

Very Good
The location was unbelievably good, and easily walkable from the train station. Picking up the keys was very efficient. Inside was very quiet considering how busy it was outside. I was not disturbed at all during my stay. It was comfortable with a very nice bathroom. There are plenty of supermarkets and eateries close by.
The wifi was terrible. There are only a couple of power points and neither were close enough to the bed (i.e. to charge mobile while asleep and have the alarm).

Wonderful
We were in a quadruple on the 2nd floor and really enjoyed our stay. Since we were there for 5 nights, we really wanted a place where we could settle in and not feel like we were living in a hotel. Our room had a queen bed and 2 twins upstairs (anyone over 5 feet tall would need to duck in the loft but it wasn't a problem), a kitchen table and sofa. The kitchenette was perfect for enjoying coffee and breakfast in the room, and storing drinks and snacks in the mini refreigerator which is what we typically like to do when travelling. The bathroom was spacious with a tub/shower and a sink with actual counter space (something that seemed to be rare in other Italy hotels), and a hair dryer. Two large closets in the hall, and a very small safe (not big enough for a lapop). We had stayed one night in another apartment, but Piccolo was much better. You could tell that although it's a historic building, Taro has added modern conveniences and caters to travelers (Amazon Prime video access, bright lighting, fully stocked kitchenette etc). Piccolo is on a quiet street with little traffic yet close to coffee shops, a grocery store, restaurants and some of the main sights. It's on the same street as the Accademia Gallery so gets a fair amount of pedestrian traffic but it felt completely safe and was very quiet at night. Taro, the host, was extremely friendly and accommodating.
It's in a historic building, and we found there was a fair amount of mildew on the shower grout. Also, the sofa didn't seem very clean with some stains on cushions. Lastly, we had housekeeping service for 2 days during our 5 night stay. The first cleaning was thorough (replaced towels, made the bed, washed the dishes). However the second cleaning only included replacing the towels (bed wasn't made, dirty dishes were left in the sink, instant coffee packets weren't replaced). Not sure if that's standard or not but was a minor inconvenience.

We stayed here for nine days over the Christmas Holiday and couldn’t have been more pleased. The apartment was comfortable and spacious with a separate kitchen, wardrobe area and bathroom. Taro, the proprietor, was most welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. There was daily bathroom cleaning and daily fresh towels and a change of bed linens several times. The bathtub was an added plus. The kitchen has a fridge, stovetop, microwave and toaster, with plate and silverware. A washer and dryer are available in the basement. When we stepped out the door the Duomo was two blocks to the right and the Accademia (with Michelangelo’s David) one block to the left. A good supermarket (PAM) is around the corner on via Cavour. We were on the primo piano (second floor), apartment 23, without an elevator, but it looks like there are some ground floor rooms as well. I would return here gladly for another stay
The kitchen could use some more electricity. We were warned not to use the microwave and the stovetop at the same time and the stovetop burners take forever to heat up and really can’t boil water. But we were able to adjust. I became a whiz at using the microwave and there was a toaster as well (but it could only be used when not using the microwave).

1. The host Taro was very responsive and helpful throughout our 5 day stay.
2. He was very knowledgeable about Florence and gave us many useful suggestions.
3. On the day of arrival, he spent about 1 hr explaining the rooms and the major Florentine places of attractions.
The apartment was very clean and very well upkept.
4. There were utensils for our use. Everything was working perfectly.
5. The apartment is located in a central and safe area.
No noise from the outside during our stay.
Nothing.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect and we were walking distance to many attractions that we wanted to see along with fantastic restaurants. Taro was incredibly accommodating and went over everything in person with handing over the keys. He was available throughout our stay with questions and even set up early taxi rides to the airport for us. Highly recommend and we loved having ample space as we were a party of three adults.
My only recommendation would be to have egg crates/ foam pads for both loft beds available. Taro brought us over one foam pad for the twin bed but we definitely needed that extra support for both twin beds in the upstairs loft.

The apartment is very spacious. Plenty of space for luggage and for sitting and relaxing. The apartment was very quiet almost her location.
The location was great. A short distance of walking from the duomo and from other attractions around.
The host, Taro, was a spring of knowledge and was enthusiastic of sharing his knowledge and experience. He also make his best to help us with our needs.

Everything was excellent! Very nice studio: silent, large, comfortable beds, mini kitchen with everything you may need, big bathroom. Short walking to all the touristic highlights in Florence - 3 min to Duomo or to Galleria di Accademia!
Taro as a host was wonderful, helpful and accommodating! If we'll come back in Florence again, we will definitely choose this place again.
No complain! Everything was excellent!
