Breakfast was very good. Assortment of food was good, the only thing I would change is that I would have decaffeinated coffee by the pot so I could get a full, regular sized cup.

This was a gem of a property. The bed was do comfortable it was a vacation in itself.
The romance of an aged structure and history just made it all worth the trip. Absolutely we will stay here again. The breakfast will set the pace of the day and you will look forward to falling in bed once your day is over. I wish we stayed longer.
As an aged building it will have small issues that are easily overcome. The staff is more than accommodating and willing to assist you if needed.

This place exceeded every expectation. The proximity to the Duomo. The incredible room service. The design of the rooms. It was perfect. The receptionist Sersena was amazing and took care of every need including ordering a cab at 5am.

Love that I got upgraded LOL Absolutely love the room I got (Room 6)! Huge bedroom space with a nice spacious living room next to it. Everything looks so vintage yet the bathroom is very modern!
The shower drain speed is very slow, so there might be a drain issue coming in the future...

Beautiful building. Comfortable beds. Beautifully decorated room. Fantastic staff who are all very accommodating and friendly. Great breakfast. Walking distance to DUOMO, UFFIZZI, and academia gallery, great restaurants, and shops. This place is a gem!

We stayed here over Christmas. The hotel is situated next to the cathedral which means that everything is within easy walking distance. It is is one of the few, if not the only hotel in Florence still family-owned having been passed down through generations of the Niccolini family.
Try not to judge the hotel by its unusual courtyard entry or the second-floor situated reception. Our stay in this authentic medieval hotel was very comfortable and warm. The east-facing window in our room gave us the treat of a sunrise over the mountains every morning - very romantic.
This is an authentic medieval building constructed before lifts were invented so might not be suitable for those with mobility problems. If going upstairs is not thing, you can take your chances with the rather scary lift.
