room is too small
Booking.com is bad. I made a last minute reservation for Oct 3-4 due to a train strike that left us in Florence for the night and somehow when I got to the hotel my reservation was changed to Oct 13-14. So not only did I have to pay for the 13-14 stay but also had to pay for the oct 3-4 stay. Booking .com has not refunded the oct 13-014 stay that I had pre-paid and does not seem to be pursuing it with the hotel. Booking.com says its a Novotel decision and Novotel says its a Booking.com decision. I will NEVER use Booking.com again!

Wonderful
I loved that they gave us vouchers to eat breakfast at the local cafe next door. The coffee and pastries were delicious. The location was perfect, central to everything and right across the opera. The host Cristiana was such a wonderful host. We were staying at an airbnb 7 min away but due to our heavy luggage and the stoned streets and steps along with a rainy day we opted for a taxi to check in to this property. However there were no taxis available on the taxi app when we checked out of the other property and Cristiana was kind enough to order one for us from a local cab company since we didn't speak Italian. She also allowed us to drop off our bags before Check In so we can keep exploring the city. They offered complimentary snacks and water at the lobby. It was overall such a great experience. I felt very taken care of.
I didn't understand the elevator. I think you had to pay with specific coins that we didn't have, so we couldn't use it to carry our luggages up and down. I should've asked but at the time the host wasn't available. I'd say that was more of our fault for not calling to ask. And it was only two flights so not too terrible. We traveled with more than we should have.

The bed and shower were great. But 30 Euros to get to the airport. Ridiculous.
The blonde front desk clerk in the evening with the curly hair was very rude and dismissive when asked about heat in the room and why the telephones in the room were not working. Unbelievable rudeness.

the food was decent, but limited at times. I think most people are there for local business. You still have to take a taxi to the airport and there is nothing to do near this hotel.
its in a industrial district. Noting to do. if your in the area more than to sleep near hotel , look elsewhere.

Very open, friendly, and helpful staff with that warm Italian hospitality.
I wasn't particularly impressed with the Novotel chain overall; considering the prices they charge, the services and facilities could have been a lot better. That said, it's pretty typical for European hotels.

Relatively modern facilities, very nice. Breakfast room facilities were impressive—the food was great also. Regards location, our trip was designed on dragging bags a short distance from the train station, and this hotel was about a 15 minute walk. It’s actually midway to the town so that worked well!
Move the hotel closer to the train station!?

Attentive staff. Very professional. Vey reasonable prices at the breakfast buffet and bar in the evening.
Could not figure out how to get warm water put of the shower. It was either scaulding hot or off. Didnt ask but could not adjist the temp on the room to heat up. It seems set at a specific temp. which is O. K. for me but, too cold for my wife. Other than that it is an excellent hotel with very reasonable rates..

A nice small pool.
The location is convenient if you need to be close to the airport. However, there’s nothing of interest nearby in terms of sightseeing, shopping, or even basic groceries.
I had arranged an early morning taxi to the airport and everything was planned, but I was unexpectedly woken up by a call from the receptionist at 3:30 AM to confirm (I never asked for a wake-up call); quite unnecessary and disruptive.
The night receptionist was not particularly friendly.

It was very close to the airport for our early morning flight.
When we checked in, the air conditioning was NOT working in the room. We went down to the desk because our Italian is not good and their understanding of English was not good. We were told an engineer would come up to the room. 40 minutes later, we went back down to the desk because no one had come. We were assured someone was coming up. After another 30 minutes, We went back down to the desk to find out what was going on. Then immediately an engineer came up to the room. Worked on the system for about 40 minutes. Said he would have to come back. He came and went several times. Replaced the thermostat, then stated he would have to replace the key holder at the door. We went back down to the desk and demanded a new room because it had not been fixed, and we were told that it would only be another hour. I refused and told them to move my room immediately. I was told it was at full capacity for the night. I demanded a room that someone had not checked into yet and re-issue our room when it was fixed. I got push back. The clerk told me he had another room but it did not have a shower. I told him that was UNACCEPTABLE !! I would not pay for a room that I did not reserve and I reserved a room with a shower. He then put us in another room across the hall from our original room with a lot of fuss. I had asked for a taxi pick up at 4:15 am Friday June 6. When we arrived down the next morning at 4:15 - I was told we had no taxi. Apparently, my request did not get moved from the original room I was in to the second room number. However, the woman at the Desk basically yelled at me that it was NOT her fault. The accommodations were NOT worth the money and the service was less than acceptable.

The staff were kind to compensate somehow for all the shortcomings of this hotel
Not clean, hygien is quite poorly, the location is a disaster, specially considering every time you need to get a taxi to reach to the city and unfortunately in Italy many taxi drivers are scammers.
There is no supermarket, shopping center or anything interesting to see at least.
Even getting to the airport is more difficult from this hotel than taking the tram straight from the city center.
