Lovely staff, spacious, and nice upscale residential neighborhood with lots of greenery
It desperately needs a paint job, maintenance, and general updating of decor. Owners are clearly skimping on necessary upgrades and basic maintenance

Well presented and well equipped room. I prefer the main building than the separate building. Clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Decent breakfast. For a mid range Florence hotel, it’s good. Porta romana is a great location. It’s nice and leafy streets around it. A few good restaurants within a 5 minute walk. And then it’s a pleasant walk into the centre of Florence.

I have stayed here several times in the last 15 years and I saw some improvements such as friendly staff and slippers in room.
if I have to complain there was a bit of mould in shower ( spray anti-muffa needed )

Location….
Rooms are a bit dirty, not daily cleaning, room in general with the bed cover, pillows etc. The safe box didn’t work, lamps in the bathroom didn’t work, plugs are very old etc. The most important thing the all receptionist were very unfriendly, a bit grumpy…

Location was great. It was in easy walking distance to other family members who were also in town for the wedding, and an easy walk into the center of town.

I arrived at the hotel around 10:30 p.m. I waited at the door for 30 minutes looking for someone to check me in. Since the parking lot was full, I looked for paid parking on the street for 30 minutes and paid the fee. The heating system in the room I was given wasn't working, and I tossed and turned until morning, only managing to sleep for an hour or two. I still had to drive 400 km. The TV wasn't working. Breakfast was offered as a complimentary service. There wasn't even coffee or hot water at breakfast. Just lukewarm filter coffee and two types of cheese. I found a cup of hot water and ate some tea biscuits. Does tea and biscuits fix this mess? It was the worst hotel and night I've ever experienced.

Pleasant
If you have a car it’s the perfect location as you don’t pay extra for the parking. It is 15 minutes walking distance from the city centre and it’s pretty convenient.
The staff was really nice and helpful!
The breakfast was quite poor with very limited options. The mattress was uncomfortably hard, which made it difficult to sleep well.
