Helpful and friendly staff. Really comfortable beds. Excellent bathroom facilities.
Incessant noise from the street outside made it impossible to have the window open. No fan available, room became very warm and airless. The mosquitoes were very hungry and we came home with many bites.

the location
our room looked nothing like any of the photos, it was tiny and very dark, there was no proper lights in the room! there was ones that plugged into the wall but it was pot luck if the switches actually worked, as they did some days but not others. We also got bitten a lot in the night, not sure if there was bed bugs or mosquitoes?? the kettle was rusty and not clean inside and the shower/bath situation was a bit rusty too

Location is excellent, easy walk to station & lots of local restaurants & sites
Not much to not like. We did have a problem with mosquitoes in our room, which was a little annoying. But overall the stay was excellent.

Easy to find, close to the station, elevators, tea & coffee provided in the room. Even though on a busy street, our room located at the back of hotel & very quiet.

The location and breakfast was very good
Bathroom facilities in the room we occupied need upgrading. The tiered half bath with shower curtain could not be used by anyone who was not a 100% fit and you had to be very careful while you were showering. I know that the hotel was full so moving to a different room would not have been possible

Wonderful
Martelli is well situated walking distance from il Duomo and all the sightseeing. Although a bit outdated, the staff was very kind and they had gluten free options for breakfast which made them stand out.
