The staff at Hotel Magenta were exceptional, providing warm, friendly, and highly professional service throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent, featuring delicious café lattes and a wide variety of food options.
The location is ideal - conveniently situated near the train station and tram, with direct access to the airport. Many major attractions and restaurants are also within walking distance. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.
The only reason I did not give Hotel Magenta a 10 is that the property could benefit from some updates. The mattresses had toppers that tended to slide and were uncomfortable; replacing them with new mattresses would make a noticeable improvement. Upon arrival, there was an unpleasant odor in the staircase and hallway, which was concerning at first, although it did dissipate later. Overall, the property would benefit from a fresh coat of paint and more modern finishes.

Pleasant
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and although the room was small, it was quiet. The 24-hour reception worked exactly as described. The location was perfect for travelers like me who arrive by train. I also appreciated having a kettle and bottled water in the room. The breakfast was quite decent, especially when compared with similar hotels.
I arrived rather late and, at the reception, was met by a lady wearing a large (really large) pro-Palestinian badge in Italian, calling for “more land for the Palestinians.” This essentially signaled that Jews and supporters of Israel are not welcome there. Given that my husband’s ancestors were Holocaust victims, I felt uncomfortable from the very first minutes in this hotel. It was, however, too late in the evening to change accommodations.
Secondly, the bathroom was extremely small—the toilet was literally in the way to the shower, which itself was slippery. The heated towel rack was covered with dust and rust showing through the paint, making it unhygienic to use. In addition, there was very little space to place or hang towels.

Wonderful
The location is perfect! It's close to everything, and we were able to walk everywhere. The breakfast was also great.
The room was very warm, and we couldn’t control the temperature. We tried opening the window, but there were a lot of mosquitoes. They did give us a fan, though, which helped a lot.

We loved several things:
1. Staff is fantastic - Hotel is family owned, so you will see the family rotating shifts and you will get to see them all depending on how many days you stay there. Every single person was friendly and very willing to help and recommend places!
2. Location - We were looking for a quiet area, a little away from the most touristic spots and we definitely got what we were looking for. Only a 10-minute walk from the train station and a 20-minute walk from the Florence Duomo (Cathedral Santa Maria Del Fiore) if you intend to visit.
3. Breakfast - We visited 3 other cities in Italy and none of the other hotels we stayed had breakfast included in the price, so this was a nice treat.
4. Small acts of kindness and genuine desire to help - During our pre-trip research, we learned about a restaurant that seemed to be really great, but hard to place a reservation. The restaurant's website didn't offer an option to reserve a table online and people on the reviews were recommending to ask someone local to call them up on your behalf, as international calls might be tricky. I kept hearing it was also hard to get a hold of the restaurant over the phone, so I decided to contact Hotel Magenta to maybe place a reservation for me. Not only did they make the reservation but also replied to my request in less than an hour! They were also kind enough to offer booking reservations for us at other places if we wanted.
This is definitely a hotel that strives to provide great hospitality, and I'd highly recommend to book your stay there. They made a very good impression on us. We have a special thanks to Vittorio, the person who we talked the most and was incredibly nice. Thank you guys!

Breakfast is included, fairly standard croissants, deli meat, cheese, and some yogurt. The staff was the highlight, friendly, helpful, etc. The room was fairly small, but it had everything you need, including a "mini bar" with water and sodas. Florence is small, so you could get anywhere on foot in 15-20 mins. The hotel was a little outside of the city center, so you weren't in the absolute middle, but very accessible.

Great location! Quiet but close enough to walk to pretty much anything. Staff and owners are friendly, helpful and there 24/7 if needed. Breakfast was excellent! Cafe bar and fresh fruit. Even had gluten free options. Mini frig in room is complimentary sodas and water. Tony the Golden was a great greeter. Room small but updated and clean. Has an elevator. Would stay again if in Florence!

Room needs an update and painting. Bathroom shower had a large rain shower head that leaked all over the floor due to an old shower door that didn't close. Only the hand wand was useable.
