Location
No elevator. When I searched on Booking, I requested a hotel with an elevator. The Hotel Academia has only one floor, but it is high up. You have to climb almost two floors to reach the front desk.

The location sets you in the heart of Florence, you only walk from the station to the hotel when you arrive, and walk back when you leave. All the main monuments are at your reach. Clean, and checks all the boxes.

Nice location, as it is a perfect midway between the Duomo and the main train station. Different shops and restaurants around. Good breakfast available. Nice staff.

The location was ideal for our stay.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is a very short walk to all of the major sites in the area as well as the train station. It is extremely easy to get around. There are many food options and gelato options in the nearby area. The staff was excellent - kind and knowledgeable. Bathroom was large with big fluffy bath towels
There is no lift (elevator) and there are many, many steps. Breakfast was definitely continental style and despite there being multiple cakes each day, there were limited options. Air-conditioning was weak.

The best part about the property is the location. There’s so many shops and cafe and places to eat around it. One side of the building was facing the busy side and the other side was facing the quiet side which was cool. I also loved the staff! Everyone was really nice and friendly and helped me with my over sized luggage which I’m grateful for.
The building is super dated! I had to keep reminding myself this. The furniture in the room was dated too. Bathroom was pretty updated but the water pressure of the shower was not the best but still got the job done.
