The nice beds and rooms are ONLY for woman as the receptionist told us. I expected (as i payed for the more expensive room) that I would get a nice room, turns out that if your are a man, you are not entitled for "nice rooms". In the words of the receptionist, "we only love woman". Very discriminating.

Good location, a beautiful building and a nice-looking room. Really good breakfast for a low price. The kitchen and cleaning staff were very friendly, and special thanks to Livia as well.

The hostel is about 15min walking from Campo di Marte train station.
It is located in a quiet area (far from the main sightseeing), but there is a supermarket right next to the hostel and caffes and restaurants nearby.
The room was spacious and clean. Bed was confortable and it has its own locker, power outlet, light and curtains for privacy and they also provided towels.
I got a free bedroom upgrade, so the bathroom inside the bedroom was very convenient. It has hair dryer so it is very good for the winter.
Breakfast is a buffet and it is only 5 euros. It is delicious and it has many options of food and drinks.
The only thing that I missed was fresh fruit (like apples and oranges ) in the breakfast buffet. Also, if you arrive at Campo di Marte at night and have to go walking to the hostel, be aware that you have to cross a bridge over the train lines and it doesn't look very safe (there were some people haging around that looked like drug dealers).

There is a bus stop just across the street.
The room smelled weird and they just offered to spray some perfume. We asked for another room and unfortunately they didn’t give us.
The shower was not hot, only cold water. One day it was a bit warm, but I had a bad experience without hot water.

I chose this Hostel b/c I wanted to get out of the tourist city center -- I've been to Florence many times -- it was an easy 25 - 35 minutes by foot to city center -- or -- you could take the train from Campo Di Marte, right to Santa Marie Novella, for 1,6 euros! The hostel itself, I'm thinking, used to be an old factory, hence the spaciousness. The beds were amazing, well organized for comfy living -- large locker! -- and absolutely wonderfully perfect showers! The rooms were cleaned every day. The breakfast, "all you can eat" for 5 euros, was a super duper bargain! A Conad store next door for food, also a Pam down the street. The place is large & spacious, with many places to work online & hang out. Staff are friendly & approachable. I felt completely safe there.
The very things I enjoyed, could be a problem for others. a) It is 25- 35 min away from the historical center by foot, so it's not convenient for "spontaneous" walks .... and b) b/c it's a large space, people "who shouldn't be there" are likely able to take advantage of this (ie., the management should look into having security there, esp at night). Still, I informed the staff of my concerns & they were very approachable. I'd stay here again!
