Good beds.
I was a victim of VIOLENCE and XENOPHOBIA at this establishment.
In a room for 6 people, with smoking prohibited, people entered the room drunk in the middle of the night, talking loudly, toasting, drinking whiskey and smoking (the person who was making the most noise wasn't even staying in the room).
Another guest and I woke up and politely asked them to drink outside the room. The person started insulting us, saying that he was Italian and that we were foreigners, that he was in his country and that we should go back to our countries. This person said that we couldn't tell him what to do in his country and SAID HE WOULD BE CAPABLE OF KILLING US. We went down to reception and tried to talk to the staff. The manager or person in charge of the establishment was not there; the employee said he couldn't do anything, refused to call the manager or the police. Meanwhile, the aggressor came after us and spent more than an hour insulting us with swear words, threats and obscenities. The employee simply ignored us when we asked for action. We spent the night awake, afraid of being assaulted. The aggressor wasn't even removed from the premises: he spent the entire night in the establishment's reception area and was sleeping on the sofa there the next morning.
The morning employee also took no action or responsibility for what happened, even though the cameras recorded everything that happened and my roommate recorded audio of the insults and threats.
We only didn't go to the police because our bus was leaving early the next morning. I tried to resolve the problem through Booking, but the hostel didn't take responsibility, didn't offer any kind of refund or compensation, and even gave a fake version of the facts, saying that they had done everything to help and that we were causing problems because we were claiminig for some action.
DO NOT STAY AT AN ESTABLISHMENT THAT TOLERATES VIOLENCE AND XENOPHOBIA!

Good sized storage in rooms which can be locked with padlock. Beds were comfy and top bunks had ladder that was super easy to use in dark. Bathroom area was clean and lots of space to relax outside of the rooms. Female at the reception when I checked in was very nice.
There is one side of the beds that doesn’t have a curtain/blind so people can slightly see in. Shower on the smaller side (it’s a wet room), and it’s in the bedroom area no separate so difficult if someone wants to shower late at night. The plug sockets in the beds were annoying as they were so crammed together I could only fit one adapter (uk-eu adapter), which made it difficult to try charge my belongings.

The price for a hostel bed was decent for the peak of the tourist season in Florence. The staff was very nice and informed me well regarding my questions.
The shared bathroom was too far from my room. I wake up 2x a night cause of health issues and have to go to the bathroom. Having to walk so far woke me up a bit and messed up my overall sleep quality. Pillows are also too used up and make the sleep even worse. IMO there needs to be another joint bathroom and shower at the end of the hallway. The floor section I was in was too big for just one.

Wonderful
I stayed in an all women's room and had a great stay. The beds were super comfortable and the room was a good size with spacious lockers and a clean bathroom. I also really liked the common spaces both in the hallway and In the front yard - I honestly felt that the pictures didn't do it justice.
Other than that check-in and -out was easy, the staff was nice and I felt safe during my stay.
