I love staying at Repubblica Firenze in Piazza Della Repubblica and have done so many times for more than a decade. It has many extraordinary features, not the least of which is the sense it gives that you are literally in the heart of Florence. You gain that feeling from the unique view it offers from a floor level that is rather high for Florence — you are literally staring at the Duomo, and, depending on which of the two Duomo units you get, you can look down into Repubblica and absorb the cheery mood from there. I have stayed elsewhere, but that is only because of availability and each time I wish I were in Repubblica — there simply are few that can compare. The apartment is extremely quiet — you cannot hear a peep at night. It’s testament to its sound construction, the floor level, and the lack of foot traffic outside your door — the building is business oriented and that means there is virtually no one there at night. The bed is large and comfortable, as are the many pillows that are provided. The temperature can be made perfect any time of year, with two thermostats in the room (bedroom and living space). There are no drafts or anything like that. The shower provides plentiful water in a rainfall style, but there is also a handheld for added convenience. The shower is in a glass structure, viewable to anyone in the bedroom, but you can draw a curtain on the other side (the curtain is also important at night to darken the room from the city lighting). It is a unique shower and I enjoy it. When in Italy I do not cook — that would be crazy! Yet, to each their own, and the kitchen is functional for anyone who would rather cook than enjoy Italian restaurants (but why?!). You have access to the staff at all times via WhatsApp and every part of the process is handled smoothly. Thank you, Lorenzo! Repubblica Firenze UNA Esperienze is an elegant place to stay, and Florence contains elegance in abundance, so to me Repubblica is a perfect choice.

The location and the view

I have stayed in the Dumo view with spacious terrace at Repubblica Firenze many times over a decade and I know from stay at other properties that the apartment is outstanding and an incredible value. The building greets you with a sense of order and modernity. So does the room, especially compared to other apartments. For example, the bathroom and shower are quite clean and modern, with strong water pressure and a great experience in the glass shower. The apartment is super quiet, with no street noise detectable, save for a siren now and then. There is only one other room on the floor and therefore super private and quiet. The kitchenette is functional, though I only use the fridge — it’s Italy! I go to restaurants. The view is dreamy and we invite friends staying elsewhere to join us before dinner. One couple liked it so much that they booked a stay for July 2025. The location cannot be beat, central to everything and in a famous, lively, joyous square.
