The location is amazing, it's right beside the Duomo. Our room had a view of the Duomo from our window. It is on the upper floor but there is a small elevator which can fit two people and luggage. We occasionally would walk up/down the stairs but usually used the elevator. The room had a small fridge which had a couple of bottles of water placed there daily for us.
It's about a 20 minute walk from the train station.
The only downside to our room was that the bathroom was somewhat cramped. The large bedroom made up for it. We'd happily book the same room again if/when we visit Florence again.

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at Residenza Giotto. The location was perfect - being just around the corner from the Duomo, centrally-located and within a fairly easy walking distance to most points of interest and great restaurants, including an easy 8-10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station and the bus station. Despite its location near the Duomo and main tourist areas, the hotel was fairly quiet being located on the 4th floor and there is a small, vintage but very serviceable elevator for guests to take to the hotel level. Our king room, located just off the small reception area, was comfortable, fairly spacious, well-appointed, quiet and had a view of the Duomo. Communication with Residenza Giotto was fine and very responsive in providing check-in and other info. Of particular note, the desk clerk was extremely helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay and visit - even personally showing us how to get to the nearby supermarket, providing some local affordable wine recommendations and taking it upon himself to provide us with wine glasses - all of which we greatly appreciated & made our stay at the hotel memorable!!
There wasn't anything we didn't like. The hotel doesn't provide breakfast but that isn't an inconvenience as there are many nice cafes and coffee shops nearby. The only thing that is helpful to know (not in deciding whether to stay at Residenza Giotto but, rather, in finding it which can be a little confusing initially!) is that there isn't a big sign or clear very visibly-marked entrance for it; it is located on the 4th floor of a building located near a retail area and the address provided to you for check-in leads you to the outside of a large arched wooded door next to a Pinko store. You need to ring the bell located near a small sign for the hotel to gain entrance! Once you enter & take the vintage elevator to the 4th Floor and check-in, you'll likely enjoy a wonderful stay!

The room was comfortable and nicely furnished. The location was in the heart of the shopping district. It was well-equipped with coffee, teas and snacks to get your day started. It was amazingly quiet considering it was so close to the main shopping area!
I did not like the step down from the bathroom to the bedroom. We kept the light on in the bathroom to avoid missing the step.

Loved the proximity to the Duomo and the center of so many fun things. Music in the open air at night - lots of great opportunities. Lovely large room with a kettle to make tea coffee in the morning.
Very clean but shower needed regrouting. A little noisy but that was expected. And totally fine with the windows closed

Disappointing
The only good thing is that the place was very central to sights and shops.
We had room #1 which was right against on the other side of the host desk and about 8 steps from the front door. It was very noisy. The picture on booking.com makes it look like there is a patio/deck with great views of the duomo. But that is not true for general rooms. Access is Only for the guest suite rooms. We were disappointed.The staff key to our room did not work, so our room did not get restocked with towels or cleaned the first day. That night when we returned, I had to ask the host for water and clean towels. He thought we were in our room all day and locked the door - and that is why they did not clean or restock. Once the host realized his/staff key was the problem, things got sorted out. It was too much hassel for the price.

The location is excellent, just next to the Duomo. The apartment was clean and had enough space, and the terrace with a jacuzzi offered a wonderful view. The host, Marco, is a great guy and very helpful in planning your stay in Florence.

A view of the Duomo , 5 th floor. A view of the Duomo, secure and quiet. A little balcony and the cutest little elevator. Good air conditioning and very comfortable bed. Marco our host is kind and sweet.

Wonderful
The location was perfect! The room was exceptionally clean and amenities were well done.
The only thing to complain about was the toilet seat-it did not fit the toilet causing it to slid off!
