There was a weird smell coming from the bathroom from the second day onward. Like dirty water or something. Sound could be pretty loud from the street, making it hard to sleep.

The hotel is located in the city center and the visitor has easy and quick access to many points of interest from there. Also, near it there are plenty of mini-markets and the access to transportation is easy. The staff tried to be helpful and the room was clean and spacious.
During our stay, the hotel's facade was covered due to renovation procedures. Also, the elevator was out-of-order throughout the whole duration of our stay there. They were kind enough to provide for us a room on the first floor so as to compensate for the relevant inconvenience. It was a nice move on their behalf but I feel like I want to mention that while in our initial reservation we opted for a double bed, the room had two single beds under a single mattress. And while this might not seem worth mentioning, it can be problematic. Other than that the only problem we faced was with the parking company that the hotel partners with. The price of the parking was good but there were some limitations about the valet service that they weren't communicated to us and we found ourselves in a weird position on the last day of our stay. Yet, with the help of the hotel's staff we reached a compromise.

I stayed at your hotel when my husband unexpectedly hospitalized in Florence.
I was very upset and worried about Ken and I was all alone.
I wish to commend your hotel staff for their warmth and kindness.
I could not initially book consecutive nights at your hotel and the front desk staff offered to store Ken’s bags. This was extremely helpful because I didn’t need to carry 2 sets of luggage to the other hotel in the heat.
All the front desk staff were wonderful. They all knew my situation and asked about Ken every time I entered the hotel which was very comforting.
I would also like to acknowledge Franco. When I arrived the first day and was obviously upset, he brought me tea and a croissant and made sure I was comfortably settled in the lobby while I waited for my room.
Klodita in the breakfast room was also fabulous. She took a genuine interest in my situation, spoke to me each day and offered me food to take to the hospital. Her kindness meant the world to me and I truly felt I had a friend.
My husband is fully recovered and we are now on our way back to Canada.

The breakfast was good. We had to pay but for some it was complimentary.
The shower flooded the room each time we used it. The sink took forever to drain. Bed was not comfortable and safe worked sporadically. The noise started early in the morning on some days. The safe worked sporadically.

The location.
The location is excellent, and the room—while some might consider it a bit old—has a certain charm. That said, the staff interaction left something to be desired. We called the front desk after we had already checked in to ask a question; they gave a straightforward answer but hung up before we could ask a follow-up. Before check-in, we also tried calling to confirm a detail and were told to email instead.
One major issue: although the hotel is listed on Booking.com as having air conditioning, it’s only available from May onward. Unfortunately, we stayed during a warm spring day and had to open the windows to cool the room—only to be swarmed by mosquitoes. It made for a pretty miserable night.
