Alfieri9 was like staying at your best friend’s house; if that house had specially designed rooms that are unique and welcoming. This is a family-managed boutique hotel that specializes in making every single person who is a guest feel welcome and at home. It is walking distance to the heart of the city, with major historical sites, shopping and a variety of restaurants within a relaxed 15-20 minute walk. This is where I will be staying any time I visit the beautiful city of Florence, Italy.

The place is 20 minutes away from the city centre in a lovely local area. The staff is lovely and very welcoming. I had issues with my suitcase and had to buy new clothes, so the guy who checked us in helped me a lot with navigating the area for late shopping. He was extremely polite I just don’t know his name. The breakfast was very lovely and selection of food is fantastic and I’m missing my morning cappuccino :( You share the breakfast table with other people, but this wasn’t a bother for us at all. If fact I think it’s a nice idea to see other guests and have this cultural experience. The room was lovely, shower was powerful and bathroom had everything you need. Towels were big enough and fluffy which is rare in some hotels. I would say better hairdryer is needed as my hair is long and thick so took ages to dry them. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great sleep each night, waking up relaxed and rested, ready for sightseeing. There is a fridge in the room and supermarkets are near by if you want to buy juice etc. I would add some milk for those like me drink coffee with milk. Even like a sachets. There is no lift in the building for guests but it wasn’t a bother for us, if you need help with suitcase just ask! If you have a mobility restrictions you might consider a property with a lift. Area is also quiet, so perfect for getting rest after long day of sightseeing.
Not like I didn’t like, but milk for coffee would be nice and better/ more powerful hairdryer.

The room was very spacious. Sylvie was an amazing host with a vast amount of information about the area. She is such a warm person you feel like you have known her forever within minutes of meeting her. Our room was ready early when we arrived. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was quite large. Breakfast was great.
The only thing I did not like about the property was that it is in a more residential area so there were not a lot of restaurants or things to do nearby. In order to get anywhere, you were looking at a minimum of 20 to 25 minutes. I would not consider this an ideal location if you are only planning to walk.

Very warm welcome from Sylvia when we arrived and very useful information about where to go and how to get there. One place was a viewpoint at Piazzale Michelangelo which provides superb views of the whole city.
She recommended several restaurants and we went to two of them - Trattoria Cesarino and Trattoria Accade - both of which offered delicious Tuscan traditional food at a reasonable price.
Location is good with everything within walking distance but in a quiet street.
We did a ‘free’ walking tour which was excellent - you pay what you think it’s worth at the end.
Breakfast was excellent and sitting at a big table with other guests is good for socialising.
The stairs up to the first floor are a bit daunting at first but a nice young man carried up our suitcases so it was not a problem overall.

Short walk into the centre, super friendly host. Adequate breakfast and allowed us to check in early which was huge bonus! It's not a proper hotel but absolutely perfect, you don't need more. Very good value for money
