Wonderful
We loved that the hotel is located in a more quiet part of the coast, halfway between Bardolino and Lazise, but connected by a great coastal walkway used by walkers and cyclists, and serviced by the ferries too, although not as frequently as Bardolino or Garda. The Dependance is separate from the main hotel (across the road), has its own parking, and guests have access to all the facilities available at the main hotel.
The breakfast in the main hotel every morning was very well catered for, and the options are many! Breakfast leans more towards a Continental-style, but there are assorted cooked egg options, Italian-style bacon, and occasionally delicious sausages. Their bread rolls are freshly baked daily, and there is also a yummy assortment of sweet bakes, including cakes, waffles, etc.
The hotel also offers access to a private swimming pool, set in a beautiful park, overlooking the lake, and there is a discount available to all hotel guests at the delightful restaurant located at the front of the hotel, where the food is definitely recommended, and the staff are so welcoming!
And most definitely, the sunsets... soooo beautiful, when the weather plays ball! Check out sunset times and go half an hour earlier, find a bench, and just enjoy the beauty of the lake at sundown.
We were on the second floor and missed not having a lift while checking in and out! We also missed not having any refreshment facilities, such as a kettle/coffee machine. The room did have a mini fridge, though, which we definitely made use of in the ten days we were there.

The breakfast was actually served in the hotel Vela D'Ora (which is located across the road from the Vela D'Ora Dependance) this was excellent and no complaints. Restaurant was clean, staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble.. food quality was excellent.
First impression of Vela D'Ora dependance was poor and once you got in through the main entrance it was pretty grim. Carpets were filthy and well trod, water stained and smelt quite bad. Once we found our room first impressions were that it was an adequate size and clean but the overriding downside was the smell. We were not sure if it was a musty smell or something to do with stale air con. It was over powering but the location was excellent. Bathroom was fine . Didn t appreciate the fact that it was only approximately €20 a night more for a hotel room, (unfortunately hotel was full) Vela D'Ora Dependence had no facilities at all and l can t honestly justify the slight difference in price.

The location was brilliant, the room was lovely, the pool and breakfast was fab, it was great that we could park the car easily and very near to accommodation.

Really nice location, nice big room and bathroom, lake view. The first night we put a blanket under the pillows because they weren't thick enough for us, and the next day the staff had replaced the blanket with extra pillows for us (we didn't even ask!)

overall excellent hotel for holidays due to its lakeside location and facilities around it.
However, be aware that this review is for the “ dependence” which is a “ guest block” behind the main hotel ,so not quite so appealing. it does have its own car park off road, and breakfast is included and taken at main hotel on the lake. The block is old style but beautifully clean and well presented.
Room has fridge ( but no kettle) large wardrobe, desk, tv, air con, WiFi,etc, adequate sized bathroom.
No balcony! You need this on a holiday hotel for drying swimwear etc and enjoying a drink in the evenings. TV in
the rooms have carpets, not tiles! In a hot country that is an amazing choice. Also our room got very hot in mid afternoon when sun on it so needed to use air con in the day so not environmentally friendly.
Coffee at breakfast had powered taste, not fresh ground.

Second stay here. Love the locatuon, lovely 25 min walk to either Bardolino or Lazise and Cisano has a few lovely lake front restaurants too. Rooms are spotless and a goid size. Breakfast buffet is wonderful.
Beds and especially the pillows are a bit hard.

This hotel and its dependence is a great solution for anyone who wants enjoy a relaxing vacation.
Park and swimming pool are really great.
Nice the breakfast. Excellent the staff.
Note: if you need the elevator to go upstairs reserve a room in the main structure otherwise the dependence is ok and cheaper.
