My mother and I stayed here at the beginning and end of our Iceland stay, each for one day. The hotel is easily walkable to the Rainbow street and bus stops 4 and 6. Out of all of the hotels that we stayed on during this trip (4) this was our favorite. The water pressure was lovely and the rooms were both clean and cute. HIGHLY recommend. Complimentary coffee was a huge bonus.
Zero complaints

I liked the smaller family old-school vibe. The happy hour and dinner was a nice addition to the atmosphere.

Very Good
Location near the center of the old town and restaurants was fantastic.
The room was a bit warm even though I turned the heat off (Winter stay). The window could open, but would not stay open due to a faulty latch and wind.

I just love the little bar and vintage-like elevator. It gives me movie scenery vibe. The candlelights are just so poetic against the snowy backdrop of Reykjavik

Excelent location, cute small.place, outstanding staff! Due to our flights cancelations, both arrival and departure, they were very flexible and helpfull.
We had an early departure and we got a snack bag with a handwritten note. Thoughtful detail.

Perfect location, close to downtown and harbour yet quiet street. Clean, modern rooms. Good light. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff.
The doors could be loud, but helps when people are mindful when closing the doors quietly.

This is such a cool, vibey hotel. While it’s on a nice quiet street, it’s easy to walk to most places in the downtown area. The staff were very kind and helpful. Plus this place had probably the nicest bathroom of any place we stayed in Iceland. The shower was spacious and the water got nice and hot. The bed was comfy and warm.

Very friendly staff. Great breakfast, very lovely hotel. We parked in front of the hotel on the street, not too expensive. Perfect location for walking around town.
Small-ish room for the price paid, but I guess that's common in Reykjavik.

Location was great. Right in downtown, while I was jet lagged and could not enjoy. An evening walk to the postal box to mail a post card was just delightful. The single bed room was very functional, but small. I appreciated the balcony. The staff was great and the morning candle light breakfast, because the sun comes up late in Iceland, was one of my favorite experiences.
Really did not have any needs that were not met. It would have liked a little bigger room, but if it had been I probably would not have noticed or improved my stay. It was just a really small room. I would have like a better selection on the dinner menu there. What I had was really yummy and was able to get in early without a reservation. Perfect as I was adjusting for the time change.

We loved the Hotel Local 101! The staff couldn’t be nicer nor more helpful. They were very attentive to the hotel guests. The room and the breakfast area were very clean! The street was in a quiet, residential area but steps away from many places that tourists would go. The bus stop we used for tours was approximately a 5 minute walk. The breakfast presentation was very appealing. There was a wide selection of very tasty food. Even at the end of the breakfast service, the spread looked as if it was just set out. The rolls were crusty and fresh, the croissants were buttery and delicious, the skyr was so yummy with many fixings! The daily peach juice was such a treat! There was a very nice assortment of teas available all day. (Coffee was available too.). We were very happy with our decision to stay here!!
Absolutely nothing!

Perfect for a couple or a solo traveler. The hotel is cute, quiet and clean with modern amenities. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, I had a ton of questions, and they were more than happy to help me navigate my stay. The location was a short walk from the main shopping and food areas and conveniently located to all of the tour bus stops. Very happy with the continental breakfast and they served coffee and tea all day. I was very pleased with my stay at Local 101 and would highly recommend.
