Location was great. Right in downtown, while I was jet lagged and could not enjoy. An evening walk to the postal box to mail a post card was just delightful. The single bed room was very functional, but small. I appreciated the balcony. The staff was great and the morning candle light breakfast, because the sun comes up late in Iceland, was one of my favorite experiences.
Really did not have any needs that were not met. It would have liked a little bigger room, but if it had been I probably would not have noticed or improved my stay. It was just a really small room. I would have like a better selection on the dinner menu there. What I had was really yummy and was able to get in early without a reservation. Perfect as I was adjusting for the time change.

Cozy, great staff and great food. We had a phenomenal dinner, lamb shank and artichoke char. Owners are hands on and the location is great.

We loved the Hotel Local 101! The staff couldn’t be nicer nor more helpful. They were very attentive to the hotel guests. The room and the breakfast area were very clean! The street was in a quiet, residential area but steps away from many places that tourists would go. The bus stop we used for tours was approximately a 5 minute walk. The breakfast presentation was very appealing. There was a wide selection of very tasty food. Even at the end of the breakfast service, the spread looked as if it was just set out. The rolls were crusty and fresh, the croissants were buttery and delicious, the skyr was so yummy with many fixings! The daily peach juice was such a treat! There was a very nice assortment of teas available all day. (Coffee was available too.). We were very happy with our decision to stay here!!
Absolutely nothing!

Perfect for a couple or a solo traveler. The hotel is cute, quiet and clean with modern amenities. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, I had a ton of questions, and they were more than happy to help me navigate my stay. The location was a short walk from the main shopping and food areas and conveniently located to all of the tour bus stops. Very happy with the continental breakfast and they served coffee and tea all day. I was very pleased with my stay at Local 101 and would highly recommend.

Location was great, street parking easy. Staff, lovely. Cocktail...okay. Enjoying it in our room while packing for the flight home was a bonus.
The room was very small, so small I had to leave my bag in the window sill overnight to not trip on it. The bathroom tiny. For one night it was okay, but tight.

Pleasant
Located in a quiet neighborhood very close to downtown waterfront and numerous restaurants. Bathroom was spacious, clean and modern, but could use some shelves. Staff very polite and helpful.
We were in the basement room right below the stairs and bar, so it was noisy and difficult to fall asleep before about 11 PM. Bedroom was tiny and bed was sub-queen size; could barely squeeze past foot of bed to get to window. This room’s windows were at ground level in an alley, thus insecure. Room was very hot so had to leave open windows to sleep. Neighbor’s cat tried to come in! Very limited street parking.

The hotel is located in a quiet street, not far away from all attractions. The decoration in the room is well thought and it was a nice and quiet stay.

I stayed at Local 101 for four nights in Reykjavik and it was a great decision. The room was clean and had a small terrace where I could see sun rise and set as well as fireworks on the last day of 2025, all from the comfort of my room without going downtown.
Breakfast was lovely! Especially the croissants and having coffee available downstairs at all times was perfect after returning from tours in the cold weather.
The staff were very friendly and informative throughout my stay. Highly recommended!
I was satisfied with everything

Loved this intimate hotel that was a bit off the main tourist part of town, yet a quick walk to everything. Loved the happy hour/restaurant. Staff was extremely helpful.
Would be nice to have a small frig. and safe in room - but definitely not a deal breaker

This was an excellent little Hotel in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. The lobby is incredible inviting, the rooms are clean and comfortable (although small), and the complimentary breakfast was phenomenal (it actually might be the star). With food cost being so high in Iceland- a super great buffet breakfast is ideal! Add to that that the hotel is like 5 mins to the stores/sights in the city centre, that the staff is super caring, and that the amenities in the room were great- and you’ve got a wonderful deal! And did I mention the reasonable price per night? A steal of a deal!
The rooms were a little on the small side.
