I really enjoyed this hostel! It’s cute and quirky, with phenomenal views. The rooms and showers were clean, and the staff was cool. I loved the artistic touches—the wallpaper, picture frames, and other little details. Breakfast looked beautiful and tasty, and the bar downstairs had a relaxed, coffee-house vibe rather than being crowded or noisy. The location was excellent, very central, and within walking distance to a lot of things.
Honestly, there’s not much I didn’t like. The bar isn’t as lively as it might have been in the past, but for me, that was actually a plus—less noise and more chill.

Overall operation: systematic, smooth, comprehensive check-in information delivered a day before
Staff: all decent/supportive, knowledgeable in local information, responsible for inquiries (both email/face-to-face)
Bathroom: very clean, sufficient, always available somewhere, lots of space to place/hold stuff, paper wipes equipped
Kitchen: plenty of space in refrigerator, tables/chairs for many people
Bed side lighting: too dark to pack/organize belongings, easy to lose things
Kitchen tools: needs more mugs, small pots for simple cooking by solo tourists
Antique decoration/furniture/old books: a bit dusty, better to clean

Pleasant
Possibility to leave things before and after check-in, location, vibe
Squeaky doors and beds, you even have to pay for a towel, lack of lockers that can be locked

Cozy room, a kitchen with utensils and a laundry room, too! Beside these, great location, close to the sun voyage statue.
So far, nothing

Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room had no air circulation, so it was very warm. Floor was cracked and dirty. The room didn't look as inviting as the photos online.

Fee-based breakfast was definitely cheaper than grabbing coffee and pastries around the corner. The location is near the main tourist bus lines, but finding the main building can become a bit confusing due to nearby construction and its proximity to several parking lots. (Hint: look for Domino's Pizza as a landmark!). The bathroom areas were clean-ish and maintained. The beds were very institutional and creaky, but comfortable enough for a few nights.
Hostel staff failed to mention the new elevator in the back of the building so we had to haul our luggage up 5 flights of stairs. Not cool. Fellow guests can be noisy but that's to be expected everywhere.

Large rooms with couches and chairs. Abundant toilets and showers. Large halls with wide space. Roomy kitchens. Large beautiful windows.
Little to no air circulation in the hostel rooms.
Doors make massive noise when people are entering and exiting the room.
Rude lady in staff.

I have visited a few museums in Reykjavík. I believe this hostel looks better than those museums. I don't know who built and designed it, but his work is super cool.
They have a kitchen so that you can cook, well... technically, they have everything you need for living.
When I arrived, the person at the counter was making phone calls one after another and ignored me for 10-15 minutes. So... I just stood in front of him and waited... that was strange.

Location is great, all city's points of interest are in walkable distance, bar was nice.
Place is cheap compared to any other stay in the area
Restrooms were a bit dirty, also smell from kitchen was all over the floor when somebody cooked.
Beds have very small curtain which doesnt cover all the bed
There is no compartment where you can store big luggage, only hand luggage can fit into lockers

Pleasant
It is in a convenient location, about a 10 minute walk to downtown. The staff is nice and allowed me to store bags both on the day I arrived and day I left. The room and bathroom were pretty clean for a hostel.
The room was soooo hot, and there is no way to adjust the temperature. Also, if it is a windy night, it is so loud. The travellers weren't loud and if they were I couldn't hear them. But the bedroom windows were beside an open area where the wind hits some sort of infrastructure and sounds like a very loud being hit constantly throughout the night.
