Wonderful
The location is unbeatable. Everything is just a short walk away, including the #8 bus stop from which you can take any tour. There is a convenience store next door open late, so you can always get what you need.
The room was small, but very clean and comfortable.
The hot water has a very strong sulfur smell. Be sure to bring shampoo as the room does not come with any and the smell really sticks to your hair otherwise.

Very central location for visiting Reykjavik. Beds were very comfortable (in our opinion!).
The room and bathroom were quite small.

The staff was nice and kind.
The location is great.
The breakfast options are limited.
The amenities are old and not properly maintained.
The cleanliness is superficial.

Breakfast was excellent and located easily from lobby yet close enough.
Elevators. I had asked for a 1st floor room. Was given a 2nd floor room but it was changed to 1st floor.

Exceptional
The staff was very helpful and friendly. We arrived at 10 am and there was a place to store our luggage for free. There was coffee available and a large area to sit and make plans. There was also a toilet available. In the evening there was a small bar to get a drink. The free breakfast had a lot of choices.
The shower had no divider to prevent the whole floor from getting wet.

Good
Location was perfect for walkability. Room was a bit small but good enough for our needs. Not "noisy" but we were on ground floor and you could hear people talking on the street outside Windows.
The online showed that there was parking. the parking was not included or part of the hotel itself. it was across the street and first come first serve, hard to find a spot.

The location turned out to be perfect. I was not able to have breakfast with you. The room was fine.
I would prefer an enclosed shower.

Wonderful
The staff was very helpful and accommodating. There was always a warm welcome, and an effort to provide a "soft landing" for the hundreds of tourists they host every week who have just arrived in Iceland. Hot beverages and a warm atrium where you can sit and use their wifi as you wait for your room. The breakfast had a nice variety and was ample.
The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. The room was warm and I loved the unending hot geothermal showers. The view of the church and the location make this hotel an excellent choice!
This being an older hotel, the rooms are a little small. The view of the church and ideal location make up for it! The bathroom is tiny, and the shower was too, but it was functional and clean, with, did I mention, endless geothermal hot water?

Clean, efficient and right there at the forefront of a beautiful iconic church that thousands travel to see.
The staff Elana, and Mariko were kind, and thoughtful.
Our mother was unexpectedly in the hospital from our original planned cruise. We had to disembark in Reykjavik, Iceland unexpectedly. Mariko was able to extend our stay at the hotel. I am grateful and appreciative of their kindness.
People standing outside our window (due to the iconic monument) all hours of the night. It was summer time and people don’t realize the building is a hotel with sleeping guests.

The location was exceptional. Just a quick walk to everything we wanted to see in the city. It was a one minute walk to the bus stop for all of our tours.
The front desk staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They made our stay in Iceland TERRIFIC!
My sister, with a walker, had a little difficulty with the stairs.

Great location - view of the church, walking distance to rainbow street and the shopping street with an L
Wow the bathroom was horrendous - the shower divider dovided nothing and water covered the bathroom floor so you had to be barefoot in the room with a towel at the edge of the room/bathroom barrier - the room was tiny

Pleasant
The location and the sincere helpfulness of the staff.
No lift and we were on the top floor under the roof. The room size while expected, was truly hard to manage.

Wonderful
The location is excellent! In the center, you have the bus stop where excursion buses picks you up. Very convenient. The staff is helpful and attentive. The breakfast is good and there is a coffee machine operating during the day. If you arrive before check in or you checked out, you can still store your suitcase in the hotel. The facilities are clean, they change the towels every day. Thank you!
I liked everything
