Very Good
Location amazing. Super close to downtown Reyjkavik and easy to walk to everything. Very safe.
Parking in lot across street free and easy.
Rooms were not exciting, but also totally adequate, clean, and safe.
Breakfast was expensive and could have been better.

The lobby, bar, seating/library was beautiful.
The breakfast was 10/10 so good!
I feel the property has work to do to be considered 4 star. I felt like I was a bother asking for a hot cup of coffee after my room was pretty chilly(finding an open window at the top of the door that no one would know would even open- that should be checked after each guest leaves and a new one comes). I was trying to warm up before my late night tour and the guy was not kind and I did not get a cup of coffee or never even was told that we couldn’t make a hot cup of coffee.
The lock to the back balcony from my room is loose and it should be stated that the balcony is shared by others. As a solo traveler, I did not love that my neighbors could just walk right by my room so I had to keep all my blinds shut all the time.
My phone didn’t work and I wasn’t even asked at all how my stay had been or was even when checked out.

Very Good
Great location.
Small room. No mini fridge. The elevator would only take one person at a time.

You cannot beat this location. Close to the heart of Reykjavik but just outside it enough to be quiet for a good night sleep! The staff were all so friendly and helpful and the beds were the most comfortable I slept on my entire two week trip. The rooms are small, but you aren't living there anyway. Go outside!
Parking was a bit rough when they had an event going on at the hotel. However, the nice receptionist even came outside to help me fit into the very last spot.

Good
The property is in the heart of the city with lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance.
The walls were paper thin. It wasn’t a problem in the middle of the night but we could hear 3/4 other groups at 9/10pm and again around 7am. There is no thermostat in the room. Temperature was a degree or two too cold for us, but livable. Finishes were well worn but very clean.

There is something fascinating about staying in a place that is, in fact, a unique museum of Icelandic art. Being surrounded by all those paintings by Icelandic artists is both healing and inspiring.
And of course, this feeling is enhanced by the adorable and helpful staff — something truly precious in a hotel, and something I really value.

Good
The location of this hotel is central to everywhere I went in Reykjavik, the staff were friendly, attentive and eager to help. The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely, it felt old fashioned but in a classy way with modern touches.
My room was changed without me ever being informed. I had booked a room with a balcony but walking in, it was immediately apparent there wasn't one, but I had been upgraded to a double room to make up for it - this was fine but I think communicating that ahead of time would have been appreciated. Also, I would advise closing your window, it gets quite noisy on the street side with people leaving early.

Excellent location for visiting the city. The free parking is a nice plus but it is first come first serve so not every guest will get to enjoy this perk
The rooms are a bit dated and there was only basic cable on the television.

It felt very expensive for what you received.
