Wonderful
It is located close to the church. The staff is helpful and kind. The rooms and the common areas are clean. The breakfast is pretty basic but it’s okay. A perfect option for people travelling on a budget
No power sockets near the bed. The kitchen area is cold.

Very Good
The breakfast was fantastic, Staff make you feel welcome and at home- shout out to Dominika for being so lovely to speak to! We originally weren't put in the correct room, however that was quickly sorted and the rest of our stay was a breeze! Loved having access to our own kitchen which was shared with another room (no issues!). Overall a fantastic stay near the heart of Downtown Reykjavik! <3 look for the cats around the neighborhood!
room was rather small so if you had a lot of bags like we did, be prepared to be a little squished! Though i dont believe all of the rooms were that small

Good location.
Stayed for 4 nights, towels never changed. No one came to do any maintenance or cleaning at all. Breakfast is served at 7:30. Too late for most of the day tours signed up for.

Disappointing
I expected a hotel, and this was one step above a hostel. very small room. you can do much better elsewhere for the price.

The house is in 2 mins walking to Hallgrimskirkja, so the location is super central. Our room was spacious and featured with a wash basin and three windows. The breakfast was also very nice as it included numerous options of food and drinks. It was warm in the room, and the bathroom facilities were clean.

We liked easy access to shopping and sites. We found free parking within 2 blocks. Our night was quiet. Free Wifi was great.

The location of the guesthouse is very central to Reykjavik and its many sights. The staff were all very helpful, especially when my flight got canceled. I landed a full day late, and they happily provided me with an invoice for the one night so that I could submit for reimbursement from the airline.
The mattress was a little too bouncy for me. It was comfortable enough, but could have been a little more firm. I would have appreciated more than one power outlet as the one in the room was very awkward to access.

Pleasant
Location is great.
Room was basic but ok.
Staff is a mixed bag, there are 2 blond girls taking care of breakfast/needs of the guests, the one with tattoos is very nice and the other once is, as someone else mentioned in the comments, the rudest person in Iceland. I am deducting one point from my rating based on this.
Word of caution: there is no actual luggage storage, they say there is, but luggage must be left unattended in a corner the breakfast room/kitchen, I expressed my concern about this and was told "if you do not like it you can take your things to a paid luggage storage facility". This ruined my morning as I had to rush to take things to a storage facility before the start of my morning tour.
There are very few toilets for the amount of rooms.
Impossible to sleep past 6am as people start waking up for the tours and all doors slam shut.

Good
Location was excellent - so well situated.
Close to the landmark church.
It was very clean and included breakfast, which is always a bonus.
Rooms were smaller than we expected, but adequate. The shared bathroom situation was not ideal - but it’s not a reflection on the Aurora. People are slobs. Leaving wet towels on the floor, missing the garbage can… again not the guesthouse’s doing, but was annoying. Can’t choose your neighbours.

This place was clean clean clean. Great location and reasonably priced by Reykjavík standards
The breakfast options were very wide and tasty. Unfortunately the eating area was a little tight but typical of European accommodations
Tight eating area

Guesthouse Aurora was perfectly located in the city center and only a short walk to many attractions, shopping, restaurants, and a major FlyBus stop. The facility was clean, well maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the variety at breakfast and the ability to meet other guests from around the world. I would definitely book again the next time I am in Reykjavik.
My only complaint was that my room was next to the front door, and I could hear all the comings and goings of other guests into the early morning hours. The second night was much quieter, though.

The location is perfect. It's right next to all the bars, restaurants and attractions in the center. We didn't make much use of the common areas but I had a cursory look and there was much more than I expected. Finally but most impressive was the room. We stayed in the private studio and it was spacious for a family of four including a simple but well-equipped kitchen. We could not have asked for a better room for our stay before leaving Iceland for home and if we were to come again and stay for longer, I have no doubt I would choose this place.
Everything was great.

Poor
Biggest room I had yet in Iceland, nice little (shared) balcony with view over downtown. Decent breakfast.
Rudest staff person (breakfast) I've met in Iceland. Not just to me, but other travelers shared their negative experience with her. Shared bathroom was dirty, and the shower curtain rod kept popping out so bathroom floor gets flooded. Not a single hook to hang your towel or robe on in the tiny bathroom.
No parking at the hotel. Had to park several streets over and haul luggage.
Reception marked as downstair but never did find it (only breakfast room there.)
No hair dryer in the room or shared bathroom, had to ask for it (from the mean staff person.)

Location. Convenient for our coming and going in and out of Reykjavík. Loved that our room had a small sink, table, window that opened, two chairs. The space was great. Comfortable room. Standard breakfast service.
When you opened the from door the bed was fully exposed. No privacy to you partner when exiting—and the lights shine right in to the bed.
