Fosshotel Baron has a central yet quiet location, within a few minutes’ walk of Reykjavik’s main street, Laugavegur, and the waterfront promenade. Exceptional
It was easy to walk to many places in Reykjavik. They offered a delicious breakfast each morning.
Beds were a tad hard, but the rooms were sound proofed and quiet.

Very Good
Great location. Staff were helpful. We were able to book a family room which ended up having two bedrooms and a central living space which was great for our family with teens. There was also a small supermarket behind the hotel and a nice cafe just up the road.
The shower was not very powerful, beds were very firm and breakfast was not included (could be purchased) which was unfortunate as Food is very expensive in Iceland.

We chose this hotel based on Location & it didn't disappoint. Easy walk to main streets in town & scenic water walk. The staff were fantastic. They were always helpful & considerate. We only got the name of one of our favorites, Natala & she was a gem. Breakfast, although the same every morning, was great. Our room was very small with twin beds which were very comfortable but not a great view. Agree with other reviews that bathroom small & shower curtain annoying. We clipped clothes pins to the bottom of the curtain & that small weight kept it in place. We did have a cabinet to hang clothes & store suitcases. The hotel was pricey for the size of the room but we were all about being outdoors so it didn't bother us & we would definitely stay here again.
The lighting in the room was awful. I can't imagine it when daylight hours are diminished. Also the plugs for charging are mostly 3 ft or so off the floor (as is in many other hotels). However, under the window & at level with the desk is a charging panel with USB/C & regular plug outlets.

Wonderful
VERY clean, spacious and comfortable. The Staff was always helpful and courteous. Location is almost waterfront.
Lighting in the rooms. There’s lots of it, but, not very Hygge. The Restaurant only serves breakfast as a full meal deal at $28.00 US. If you want coffee and a roll, $28.00. They will not break it down in any way. Luckily the Coffee Shops in town are good and capable.

Excellent location, right in front of the harbor. Walking distance to the downtown area and shopping/ restaurant streets. Clean comfortable rooms.
Breakfast options. Big rooms but smaller bathrooms.

The people at the front desk were spectacular. Helped us get into our room quickly. Really helpful advice re: eating/ getting places.

Very Good
The room was quite comfortable. The pillows were nice, not too soft or hard. Breakfast was delightful, with lots of variety and very filling.
Shower could be larger. Turning around in the shower is challenging as the shower curtain sticks to a wet body.

It was nice.
The key to get in the room it was an actual key and I wasn’t informed that you had to re-lock the door with the key when you leave or it stays open. The shower was a tiny square was a draw curtain that wasn’t easy to maneuver and water can spill on the rest of the bathroom easily if you’re not paying attention to the curtain.

The location, customer service, and breakfast were all fantastic.
Everything you read about the showers is true. It feels super gross to have a shower curtain clasping at your skin while thinking who else’s body has this wet thing been on before me.

Wonderful
The location is excellent in the heart of the town. The staff were amazing and seem to really care about our experience at Fosshótel Barón and Reykjavik.
All the beds on the trip were small and so were they here. US citizens like a little bigger mattress. Personally had trouble with the shower. Unusual, but complaint is that the water was too hot and I could not turn the knobs to get the temperature cool enough. I did read the sign on the wall about how the water could be 180 degrees, but could not get any of that put cold water to come out when taking my shower.
