The location was central and the staff was helpful.
I had to walk up two sets of stairs with my heavy suitcase to get to the elevator and reception. The room was basic and clean but for the price of $170 I had expected a bit more luxury.

The location of the hotel was great. The breakfast and early options were very nice -- great quantity and quality of fresh foods for variety of tastes.
I did not like the steps and crooked, iron handrail. The handrail should be replaced. The staff were accommodating for the steps. I did not like the walk to the bus stop. I thought vans would pick one up at the hotel (before booking). I have physical limitations with steps.

The room was nice and well equiped, the staff was really kind and helpful. Location was perfect, near everything you need as a tourist.
Breakfast wasn't that good, overall it was quite limited. The coffee was bad, the ham and cheese was not good either. It can be improved

The location, cleaniness and overall causiness.
The room was very well heated which I enjoyed during the cold days.
If you have dry eyes or nose, think of bringing a small humidifier or extra moisturising drops. The combo between the heating and ventilation did a number on mine. Not the fault of the hotel in any way, just a personal limitation.

Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Hotel was a little hard to find but location was great.
I dropped my luggage in storage at the hotel early morning. After a full day of site seeing I returned and was told I didn't have a room. Although I had made reservations months in advance and received confirmation it appears they overbooked and told me I had to drag my suitcase 5 blocks to another hotel in their chain. They could not assist me with transportation to a different hotel. I'm female, in my 70's , had been sightseeing all day and up extremely early that morning. I took issue and after a long discussion with the desk, I was reluctantly given a room and told they would 'bump' someone else. Also note that you have to carry your suitcase up several stairs at the entry and no stairs is there to help. Extremely difficult for those with mobility issues

property is really secured! watched the northern lights and comeback around 2am front door was locked. you just need to buzzer the speaker and someone will remotely unlock the door for you. secured, neat and very close to the impt sites of Reyk.
the entrance going to the elevator door and reception area is a 3 big step staircase. watch out if you are carrying more than 25kg suitecase.
being close to "the old bookshop" bar, you can hear a little of the party noises.

Perfect location for site seeing! Very convenient to stop back in for breaks throughout the day, or drop off purchases. Very clean. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Good, strong coffee.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the neighborhood bar singalongs and general street revelry continue long into the night - until 4:30 am once - but on another night, the pouring rain kept the celebrations to a mere 12:30 am. The room was far too warm to sleep without the windows open, so there ya go. Earplugs are a must. Also, it’s a minor inconvenience, but the shower circumference is very small. My 5’8” husband was very confined and I am only 5’2” but still bumped my elbows frequently.

Location was great.
Old and run down. Staff was not welcoming and usually not at the desk. We needed an elevator, which they had, but we had to walk a flight of stairs to get to it.

great location in center of town, coffee and donuts were at the reception desk because we had to check out before breakfast
Room was very small. Because of all the roads being blocked, due to culture festival, we had to park a long way away and haul our luggage to the hotel. That is not the hotel fault but they should have informed us about the festival and that we would have difficulty getting there.

Breakfast was Continental, a little light by American standards. Staff was phenomenal. The entrance to the hotel is hard to find and there are steps to negotiate with luggage. Location is fabulous.
Hotel entrance tricky to find. Stairs at the entrance that must be negotiated with luggage. There can be noise from music in restaurants and the street.
