Wonderful
The location of the hotel was very good. Very close to many attractions and restaurants. The spa was very nice as well.
I did not like that there was not a real bathroom door - this was not good for privacy.

The location was great, so close to everything in town. The room was lovely
We had a room overlooking a road which was quite noisy all night, mainly with people leaving the pubs and restaurants

Room was compact but very comfortable. Had dinner in the restaurant which had a wonderful selection, especially regarding fish, high quality food and excellently made cocktails. The geothermal bath in the spa was also fantastic, great for relaxation and drinks could be ordered to the bath via intercom.

Property was very clean, room was spacious, and the hotel staff were nice. Our room had an actual tub which is the first I’ve had in 4 hotels in Iceland which was a nice surprise! Parking was free
There is minimal parking (though it is free) so we had to ride around for a bit until a spot opened up to avoid having to pay in nearby lots

The room was very cute and comfortable. It could have used a real coffee maker like many others we stayed in. Instant coffee just doesn’t do it. The staff was amazing except for a young man at the bar who was annoyed with us because we did not have a reservation for dinner. We had just gotten there and weren’t sure where to go so opted for the hotel. Personally, we should have just left when he tried to turn us away. We went elsewhere the next night.
The breakfast was just sad. We were never given a thing to put on our car dashboard allowing us to park in the spaces allowed. When we checked out, we had TWO notes on our car saying we could be towed. WHAT? One of the staff kindly showed us where to park but never mentioned that. Luckily, it didn’t happen. Parking was a nightmare as it was. Then construction next door made the hotel hard to find. Not the hotel’s fault but it was an issue we didn’t need.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome with lots of selection. Location is great.
Parking is limited, but we were able to find free spaces nearby.

Cleanliness and all staff are wonderful. Beds and pillows are very comfy! Free parking was fairly easy to find.
Our first room was below sidewalk level and therefore had no light since you must keep the drapes pulled all the time. Also, you need the window open for cool air since the rooms get hot but then that room is very noisy with people walking by outside at all hours.
Our second room was wonderful, upper floor, lots of light and quiet.
Breakfast was a few steps above your typical, American hotel chain breakfast. It was nice that they had fresh fruit thought the pears were too hard to eat. Scrambled Eggs are very hard and very salty! At least they offer skyr as an alternative.

My wife and I had a terrible experience with this hotel. On 9/9/2025 afternoon, we tried to check in with our booking confirmation email. They told us that we have to move to another hotel because of overbooking. On 9/20/2025, we came back from our road trip to check in. They did the same again. Completely disregarding our protest, they move us to a hotel far away from downtown of Reykjavik. We just can't image that a hotel in Iceland capital city can give their guest such a rude treatment. This negative experience makes our otherwise perfect first time Iceland trip disappointed.

The food was plentiful and good.
Our first breakfast , it was too crowded to find anywhere to eat due to tour group so we had to sit on a couch balancing our food.

The friendly staff and the proximity to fun things to do in Reykjavik.
Our room was overbooked so we were actually transferred (at no cost to us including taxi to and from) to the Grandi which is a sister hotel. Both properties were clean and staff very helpful.

Breakfast was nice and location was good.
The window did not have a privacy curtain, only blinds. Being on the first floor everyone looked straight in on us with the curtains drawn.

The restaurant and staff were both very good.
The current construction going on right outside made the already limited parking availability in Reykjavik a little more challenging to figure out.
