It was clean and not too far from downtown. It was about a 20 minute walk to BSÍ and other downtown tour pickup spots. The bathrooms were large and private which I liked, and there were plenty of them. The kitchen was excellent. It had an oven, 2 stove tops, a microwave, a kettle, a large sink, and 2 fridges. Since eating out in Iceland is so expensive, it was nice to have the full kitchen to cook meals in.
The reception was only open from 9am - 4pm Monday though Friday, and most people in our room were not in the hostel during those times because we were doing day tours around Iceland. I wasn't able to get a bath towel because I couldn't find any staff.

This hostel was an excellent, good value for my budget trip to Iceland. The facility was warm, very good private showers, bus transfer by Flybus pickup directly at hostel... @ 4:07 am. Bus transfer can be up to 10 minutes late, not to worry. (Versus time printed on ticket). All the best shopping, restaurants, and attractive cozy places, are a 20 minute walk from the hostel. There are walking paths which are separated from the road, for your safety and comfort.
You need a smartphone to do your check-in on the weekend. It is pretty easy.

The location was good for getting to the university and city center, but beyond this, it is a sub-par experience.
Staff went home early and locked me out of my luggage. There is no one there at night to enforce quiet hours, which is problematic for obvious reasons. There was an obnoxious homeless woman staying in my room. Doesn't even have a basic breakfast.

This was my second time here and I like it. The entire building is clean, enough facilities for everyone (I never had to wait for shower), the kitchen is really nice and has everything. I stayed in the 10 bed room both times - everything was okay and I loved it. If you're used to hostels and are thinking of staying there, go for it. The beds are super nice, I always found a nicely done and fresh bed waiting for me. If you need to store your luggage, just ask for the locker room. The staff is always nice and helpful. One of the things I love about this place. :) Definitely can recommend!

I had bedbug bites for two consecutive nights. Though they moved me to another room and washed all my clothes and backpack, professional insecticides are needed. Regular cleaning is not enough to kill bedbugs.

The location was easy to find!if you book the airport bus, the drivers know exactly where Bus Hostel is. It’s also near the main terminal, which is very convenient.
I’d like to thank Max at the reception,she kept me updated on when to book the aurora tour, and I was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights! The staff were all super friendly and helpful.
This hostel is a one-stop place for everything.they also run the tours, so the prices are very affordable and the booking process was smooth.
The room was clean and comfortable, with thick blankets that made me sleep so well. They clean the hostel every day, and there’s a kitchen on the second floor with utensils and plates available for guests.
I also met a lot of fellow travelers here, which made my stay even more fun. It’s walkable to town, but we also rented a car and parking was free!
I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

The facility is clean.
It is in the middle of nowhere. It takes 20 mins walk to the Flybus terminal and 19 mins city centre. There is no shop, no kiosk, no restuarants within 20 mins walk. The reception only opens at 9:00am. We arrived at 7:30am and we don't have the code/QR code to get into the hotel until 13:00 on the same day to check in. Therefore we had to wait in the coldness. Luckily one girl checked out the hotel early, after showing her my booking document and she used her code to let us into the hotel so we can wait in the corridor until the reception opened.

It is located near the bus terminal (15 minute walk). Easy access, clean and spacious room. There’s also a kitchen with the main equipment.
The entire hostel is very clean.
The staff is really helpful - we didn’t meet them as we were checking in late and checking out early but they responded to all of our questions in the chat.

Staff was extremely patient and friendly. Late, remote checkin is available. If checking in early, staff will hold luggage safely. Room and bathrooms are clean. Bed was quite comfortable. Fine kitchen area. Private room was a good value for Iceland. We walked everywhere in Reykjavik from here. Its a fun spot and I can see it being a practical hub for bus tours if you dont have a vehicle.
It is a small room but comfortable and all we needed after a long day of walking. Front office and staff only accessible from 9am-9pm. If you are booking bus transportation at odd hours I would recommend scheduling it on your own. Our 5am transport from the hostel to the airport was miscommunicated but luckily the BSI bus terminal is only a 15 min walk and we managed to catch a ride from there.
