Wonderful
Hotel Laekur is a wonderful country hotel. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are large and nicely decorated. The location is very quiet and scenic, and the rooms themselves are very quiet.
The hotel has an outside hot tub, but it was too hot to get in.

We loved staying in our little cabin at Hotel Laekur, which had a view of the river and pastures with beautiful horses running through them. It was a great place to spend a night after seeing the natural wonders of southwest Iceland.
The restaurant is a bit pricey, but then again it is in a remote location on a far away island at latitude 66 in the North Atlantic!

breakfast nice. dinner and service excellent. room was great. the young blonde women in her 30's ? at the front desk was extremely helpful. she gave us 7 or 8 destinations to visit in the south. got thru 6 of them, but due to time not the other 2. I do not know her name, but, if you know her tell her thank's from Dave,and,Nancy. Nice person and very helpful to those guest's who are new to the area! Thank's
It rained 3 out of the 5 days we stayed in iceland. Being our 1st international trip out of the states we enjoyed our stay. learned a lot for our next trip out of the USA.

Nice view, great staff, they prepared my room ahead of schedule and were really helpful when I complained about noise at night from people at the sauna by my room. Room is pretty and modern-looking, shower is great and big with geothermal water.
The bed is a bit small but not a big issue for me.
There was a sauna by my room and it would get noisy at night, but the staff were great as they asked the people to keep it down and then they left.

In a peaceful countryside, cabins are very scenic, but we didn’t stay in the cabins but in the main hotel. Very nice breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff, hot tub and sauna.
Outside stairs to upper unit right behind our room, very loud banging whenever anyone went up and down.

Lovely quiet countryside location. Nice to have use of the barrel sauna, hot tub & cold plunge.
Queen room 13 above reception, clean & comfortable up one outdoor staircase. Slanted ceiling prevents you from sitting upright in bed. Tiny bathroom &floor gets wet (no bath mat) spray extends under the short shower curtain.

Beautiful location, breakfast was delicious, dinner was also good, staff was friendly and the bungalow was large.
Confusing to find at night, gps led us to a building were we saw a sign that said 400 metres down the road we then pulled into someone’s property before realizing that wasn’t it and pulled further down the road and finding the facility.

Our champagne! The hot dry sauna. Super staff and lovely owner. They woke us for the lights.

We arrived after 10pm and our room key and instructions were waiting at the reception area. We were given a beautiful 2 story cabin , 2 bedrooms, small living room w/tv, and nice bathroom. A door to a nice deck with table allowed us to view a small brook, and farm land. Beds were very comfy, cabin was comfortable and cheery. Breakfast was good. The property has 2 dogs that are very friendly, don't jump on you and roam freely but were never a problem. We wished we could have stayed longer than one night. Don't hesitate to stay here!

The property is in the middle of farmland but still pretty close to Hella. Horses graze close to the property and there is a nice river running next to the stand-alone units. The owner gave us a few snacks to feed the horses to the delight of some of the younger hotel guests. The main lodge had a rustic dining room and a comfortable upper level with plenty of room to hang out after a day of travel. The restaurant menu was limited but we all enjoyed our choices.
The soup and salad bar addition to the meal was quite expensive. It was fine as a separate all you can eat option but adding it to the cost of the main meal, which was already expensive, caused most of our group to stick to just the main course.

The staff was kind enough to move us to a better room. The first one was upstairs and the ceiling was very low over the bed. The beds were comfortable, but the lighting was not great in the rooms. The property is in a very beautiful setting and would be great viewing for the Northern lights. The hot tub and spa were not very inviting, so we did not use them. Breakfast was good. We did not try the dinner.
