The hosts were very unresponsive on the Booking app. I messaged the hosts a few times during my stay asking them to clarify the cleaning policy, and they didn't reply until I already checked out and left.

They will charge you 100 Euros cleaning fee for a DIRTY house. See attached pictures. We stayed in 6 hotels/vacation houses during our trip to iceland, this house was by far the worst. You would expect that a property that specifically charges you for a cleaning fee (100 EUROS), unlike any other property that I have ever visited, to be squeaky clean, but no! This was by far the dirtiest property in our trip. The amount of dust that was on everything, under the beds, has accumulated for a very long time. The amount of dead flies on the floor, was tremendous. It looks like as if nobody clean here for a long time. I will never set foot in this property again.

The cabin is located near Akureyri. It was convenient to find grocery stores, restaurants and others.
The facilities like the coffee machine, the shower and the sofa are old and dirty. The water has a sulfur smell. We didnt use the hot tub because it didnt look like well maintained. The bathroom was the worst. There was no shampoo or body wash. Water also smelled bad. The toilet lid kept falling down. When you are taking a shower, the water would leak all the way to the living room because the shower area doesnt have a sliding door or a shower curtain! What was the worst was that there were flies!! It was absolutely nothing like a cozy and comfortable wooden house that we expected!

Save your money. I dont understand why it couldnt of been clear when you booked what the price was. They dont include 200 cleaning fee for you to see unless you actually scroll down to the very bottom of the confirmation. And if you miss it like we did, its too late to cancel. Also 200 for a cleaning fee and other expenses when they literally tell you that you need to take out the trash, linens, and clean the whole house or you get charged?? Not ideal at all. Why be sneaky with so many no needed extra charges? Also we are not picky but the place was full of flies. The only nice thing was the location. As budget travellers this was extremely disappointing and would not recommend.
