There was an off gassing odor every time upon entering the apartment. We couldn’t figure out what was causing it. However, upon opening the windows for a few minutes, it completely dissipated. Let me emphasize that this was a minor thing and did not affect our comfort.

1. The bathroom window needs film or a curtain. Right now the neighbours can see the upper part of your body when you shower. 2. The doors on the upper cabinets in the kitchen need new pumps so they will stay open. Now you need to use one hand to hold them open making it difficult to put things away, e.g. a stack of plates (which requires two hands). 3. The light in the dish washer blinked the entire time the machine was open. Drove us a little crazy.

The beds weren’t very comfortable. When we took the sheets off to wash on the last day, I could see the mattress and all the pillows were shades of yellow and brown - obviously they hadn’t been changed in… years? Pretty gross.

I wanted to take some time before writing this review to ensure that my feedback would be fair and helpful for future guests. Unfortunately, my experience at this property was quite disappointing. The first interaction with the host was through a confirmation email, which, aside from providing details about the apartment, included an extensive list of chores that we were expected to complete before leaving (e.g., setting the radiators to 2, removing used bed linens, cleaning the oven, etc.). This set an unsettling tone for the stay. Upon arrival, despite having informed the host 6 months in advance that we would be a group of 7, we found that only 6 beds were made. When I inquired about this, I was told that a special request was needed to have the seventh bed prepared. We arrived late at night, exhausted, and had to make our own bed—something that should have been ready given that we booked for 7 guests. To add to the frustration, the zippers on the duvet and pillow covers were broken, leaving them uncomfortably open, as shown in the photo I uploaded. The kitchen also left much to be desired. Several appliances were not functioning properly: the light in the fridge was out, and the water boiler’s light didn’t work. Even though we were expected to clean the oven after use, we found it already full of crumbs when we arrived. In comparison to other accommodations we stayed at in Iceland, this one fell short in terms of both facilities and service. While it had the potential to be above average, these issues significantly detracted from our overall experience.

Kitchen equipment was adequate but old and needs attention and additions. No hand soap/shampoo/etc. Not essential but would be easy to do and a help to travelers.
