The family who runs this home stay is wonderful! They make you feel very welcome and take the time to help you book any tours you need (you can even reach out to them ahead of your stay if you like to organize in advance!) and they will call on you if there are interesting animals visible from the communal balconies. The property is located a 5 minute walk from several restaurants, and is 5 minutes from the entrance to the wildlife reserve. The view of the reserve from the balcony is lovely and very active with wildlife early in the morning and late at night. The rooms were spacious and the showers were ACTUALLY hot and stayed hot consistently. This was my favourite place I stayed in India!

Beautiful, large, and very clean room with a stunning forest view from our balcony ?. We could see animals and many birds in the forest, which made the stay extra special. The mattress was extremely comfortable, and we slept very well.
The place is within walking distance to the centre, yet very quiet and peaceful — the perfect combination.
The host is truly amazing. Rana helped us with taxis, live shows, and excursions, making our stay completely stress-free. She also sells 100% pure honey produced by her family — a lovely and authentic touch.
I highly recommend this accommodation full power. Thank you so much, Rana!

Location is about as good as you can get for a budget stay in Thekkady. Right near the park and restaurants, but off the extremely busy roads. The hosts also very kindly let us stow our bags in the homestay while we camped overnight in the park.
We had a few issues with shower fixtures falling off the wall and some bugs that lived in the curtains.

The experience of homestay. While everyone claims home stays without the homestay experience Ramakrishnan and Family did a fantastic job. He was super flexible, listened and goes to help you out all the time. He literally saved me when the Silverline Munnar didn't accept the booking which was done 4 days ago prior. I called him and he immediately accommodated me in Thekkady and made me comfortable. The property location and the money I paid, is very good value. Enjoyed my stay, lot of food joints around and 5 mins walk to the information centre and attractions. I would definitely come back and stay, enjoy the hospitality of Ramakrishnan. A true GEM which is very very rare to find these days in the hospitality business.

There is a balcony with beautiful view to the jungle, great location, and the room is very specious.
It's not a typical homestay, as you don't have to go through the family home, which were very kind and helpfull in everything I needed.

This place is located so well- right at the border with the National Park! We spotted bison and wild boars from the balcony!
The owner is very kind- he helped us out and saved us from a tourist trap when we asked for his help (the expensive jeep safaris are a trap- go for a guided nature walk safari inside the national park instead). He walked us to the national park office (which is also very close by) at 8:00 in the evening to help us book the nature walk. We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality. Would definitely recommend this place!

We loved spending our time here. We were welcomed and treated like family. Rani, her brother and the entire family are so lovely. We learned so much about them and their culture.
When we weren’t feeling well we were looked after with so much care.
They booked for us all the activities in the area. You can ask them help with anything!
The room was very bag and there is a huge terrace facing on the reserve, so it is very easy to spot animals from there, amazing! We couldn’t be more grateful and We hope to be back one day !

Konark Homestay is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Thekkady. It is perfectly located very close to the entrance of the park. The back of the property also overlooks the park and animal sightings are possible while relaxing on the balcony! Rani is a fabulous host, she cooks fantastic meals. I spent an evening with her and helped her cook the guest dinner. She is a great cooking teacher and I learned a lot. She also helped us organize a day trekking in the park. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I really recommend Konark for your visit to Thekkady!

In the morning you have the jungle view with deers and gaurs. Beds are comfortable, bed linen clean. Staff very friendly, excelent location. Great restaurants in the city.Bathroom is clean and big.
The walls are dirty, just as the doors and doorhandles. It was going to give a rate 8 if it was around 800-100 rupies, but for 1200 this place is too dirty.

Great location in Thekkady, near Park entrance & much quieter than Kumily. Lovely Park views from balcony. I saw Indian Gaur, Wild Boar, Sambar Deer & many species of birds. Rooms great value, comfortable, clean & spacious. Hosts Rani & Ram very helpful with booking local trips & onward travel. Rani made me a nice breakfast every morning at the time I wanted. Lovely homestay - highly recommended!
