The garden setting of Green View is wonderful there are so many birds to watch. Suresh is an incredible host and is a mine of information. He directed us towards activities for both the days we were here

On a positive note, the hotel’s location in Kumily is convenient — close to the marketplace, Kadathanadan Kalari & Navarasa Kathakali Centre, and the Periyar National Park ticket office, which is a big advantage. My rooms were garden-facing, providing a peaceful view. Both the owner Mr. Suresh Sir and his son were quite enthusiastic, talkative, and very helpful. Whenever I contacted them before my trip, both provided me all the necessary information without any hesitation. On my request, Suresh Sir even booked the Kathakali and Kalaripayattu show tickets for us, which was a kind gesture and much appreciated.

Suresh is the man. Best shower in India. We had a great time in our stop over in Kumily!

Sureesh is the owner and manager of this guesthouse where I’m staying in Thekkady, Kerala, in the south of India ?, for three nights Highly recommended ? Comfortable, simple, and spotless; really clean. My room has a balcony overlooking his garden, surrounded by trees ? where I can hear the birds singing. The place has around 14 rooms — spacious, clean, and with terraces and hammocks perfect for relaxing ? It’s perfectly located, just a few minutes’ walk from the park ticket office and entrance, as well as several restaurants ?✨ I’ve had a couple of beautiful and deep conversations with him ?️ where I could feel his sincere sweetness ✨ He’s incredibly helpful — he even checked on me two days before my arrival to share directions and recommendations. He also practices yoga like I do ?‍♀️ and every morning, without fail, he does his meditation practice at sunrise ? Sureesh inherited the land where this house now stands ? He worked in the park for many years and decided to follow the advice he once received from a traveler ✨ to open a guesthouse for tourists ? He took out a bank loan and built his home with love and effort ? Sureesh is an example of discipline and dedication, of devotion and service ? I loved talking with him — I learned so much from his wisdom ? He has such a warm, cheerful, and gentle energy ? Truly an incredibly kind soul ? I would definitely stay here again ?

This was our favourite place out of seven hotels and homestays we stopped in during our trip to India. The owner, Suresh, is a lovely man who cannot do enough for you. He helped us with bookings and excursions and even dropped us off at the local martial arts show which is on every night and is fantastic. Green View is a lovely place. The room was a good size, the balcony with a garden view was delightful and no sooner had we stepped into the room did Suresh spot a giant Indian squirrel from our balcony. I spent lots of relaxing moments here watching the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and even fruit bats! There is also a roof terrace where you can dry your washing or relax in a hammock. Thekkady is a lovely town. Suresh helped me arrange an ayurvedic treatment at a nearby spa and cooking classes with a lovely local family - both are not to be missed and Suresh will be able to provide details. We also visited Periyar tiger park and saw wild elephants making easy work of a giant clump of bamboo. We loved our time here and would love to come back. The hospitality from Suresh was fabulous. He was not at all pushy but made us aware when we arrived of the activity options in the area and ensured that we got booked onto the trips we wanted. They get booked up ( we couldn’t do some we wanted) so being proactive on, or before arrival is recommended. He arranged a car for our onward trip. We had a clean comfortable room with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the garden. There is a communal shady roof terrace with hammocks that we enjoyed too. Good location- easy walk to the departure point for the park tours. Excellent WiFi. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Green View! The room was spacious, very clean, beautifully furnished and the best part is of course the balcony, facing lush green garden. Very quiet and beautiful place. Suresh was most helpful, assisted us with our travels and advised us on what to see in Thekkady. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Green View.

We had a lovely 2nd floor balcony room overlooking the garden. Green View is ideally suited to walk to the village restaurants, etc. As well as close to entrance to Periyar Tiger Reserve.

Our host was absolutely brilliant - so helpful and super informative. He helped us to arrange activities and advised us on the best value transport to our next stop in India and it was great - and not something we would have figured out on our own! The room was really comfortable, it had a very powerful hot shower and very comfy bed, which is not something we have found a lot elsewhere! We loved relaxing on the secluded balcony overlooking the trees where you can see and hear lots of wildfire.

Beautiful view, serene atmosphere with the proximity of the national park. Suresh was very kind and extremely helpful. The taxi driver he organised for me was very friendly and drove me safely to Kochi. Would definitely stay here again.

The hospitality of the staff and Suresh really stands out. Suresh was extremely helpful, courteous, friendly and resourceful. The property itself is very nice with an amazing garden. The breakfast prepared by the staff was amazing. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
