Disappointing
The place was ok, compared to many other stays around the place. It good views points.
The facilities were not good at all. The water heaters were not working and we complained about it as soon as we arrived and there were so support or response from the staff till next day. The staff were not responsive to our requests, such as when we asked for drinking water to our room or extra bedsheet and blankets( since we had booked an extra bed). We had to keep reminding them many times till they brought it.

Mr. Josin was a great host and all the staff at the retreat were very professional and friendly, and made our stay very pleasant. Lovely place to stay with beautiful valley views and a great place to relax among bird sounds.

Josi of Beaumont is a super host. He is friendly, helpful and enterprising.
In addition, the well-maintained property welcomes you to its grace and quaint ambience.
The first thing you notice is that the place itself has a calming effect on you. You will settle into this ambience pretty quick and makes you feel “this could be life”.
The cottages re-assembled from at-least 100-year-old traditional wooden houses of Kerala give a rustic feel to the stay.
We enjoyed every bit of it, lounging on the veranda, taking small walks etc. It is arguably one of my best stay experiences in the last 5 years.
We would spend time on the veranda just listening to the birds and the omnipresent breeze, which was time spent worth its weight in gold.
You could walk around the whole property which has been landscaped beautifully. They have tried to preserve old trees, an old oxcart and a fireplace, all adding to the innate charm.
Josi and his team cook all the food at the site and is hands down very delicious.
They seem to be good at South Indian as well as Chinese food. Moreover, If you give them an advanced idea about some specific food you are looking for they can make it possible most of the time.
Towards the end of the property, there is a small gate leading to a viewpoint. The view overlooks a cliff towards the valley in Tamilnadu.
In the mornings you can take your tea and enjoy the sunlight as you warm up in it. You can even do yoga there.
The omnipresent breeze is soothing cold. In the evenings you can sit on the grass watching the mountains and the valley. You can spot the Gavi hills and Mangala Devi temple.
As the night descends, the mist also descends the hills making the view even more breathtaking. Adding to the air is the music of cicadas and some distant calls of birds. As you are lost in this, slowly you realise you are very cold and climb up the ledge back to the warmth of the cottage.
