The rooms are very spacious and they are made in French architecture
If you are going to get early morning and take a shower, make sure you ask the reception in the morning because in the morning, the shower and few rooms do not work.

If you want five star luxury, this hotel isn't for you. But if you want french meets indian chic style with antique furniture, four poster beds you need the boxes provided to climb onto and an oasis of a courtyard for dining, then this is the hotel for you. The location is excellent being based in the french quarter of Puducherry. The staff are professional and knowledgeable. They happily accommodated an early breakfast for us when we needed to check out early on our last morning for a flight. Top tip ... ask for an upstairs bedroom. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and hope to stay here again.

When we arrived we were shown the room allocated, it was dark, noisy, dusty. The bathroom facilities were outdated and totally unacceptable by modern standards, the overall impression was so bad we left immediately and found alternative accommodation for the same price but far exceptional facilities. Since then we have tried to negotiate with the Dunewellness group to seek some compensation for this and they have refused we feel we need to tell you that the information you have on your website does not represent the hotel. We were miss sold this hotel and feel it would be in your interest to ensure the visuals match the current state of the hotel. We feel that having to pay upfront means that this is how they are getting out of not recompensing us.

On arrival at the property, I was told they did not have a booking.com reservation for me. Fortunately I arrived early afternoon and they still had one vacant room, but it was considerably cheaper than the room I had booked, and way below my expectations

Furniture in the rooms is not at all comfortable. Bathrooms need a complete revamp. Pricing is too much for this standard. The first two rooms on the ground floor are so so so noisy, don't ever book them.

Beautiful historic hotel - our room was full of antique furniture and we loved it. Theres a nice courtyard area to sit in, which is also the restaurant. Theres no lounge with sofas - there is an area with a few seats upstairs overlooking the courtyard but it was very hot there.
We didnt have dinner there because the menu was a bit limited - but partly because I dont eat meat. Breakfast was ok.
If you ask the hotel to book transport for you (eg a car + driver), be sure to confirm and reconfirm in advance and on arrival. We had an issue with this although the manager was helpful in sorting it out at the last minute.
