Good
Property Exceptional. Room extremely beautiful with breathtaking views on all sides with a constant music of a stream flowing. Away from the noise of city.
No one to respond to call on intercom ever. Provisions such as towel, tea coffee etc inadequate for three guest . Disappointing for such a beautiful place. Can be managed much better.

Pleasant
We stayed in the Teanest Annexe away from the main complex. It has basic amenities. We were lucky to have a week of beautiful weather - gorgeous sunny mornings and starry skies in the evening. The view was just breathtaking and the area was quiet enough to rest and recharge as opposed to hustle and bustle cities in India. We loved the tea plantation walks and morning birdwatching provided by a Teanest employee.
It's important to mention that Teanest Annexe had a young employee who was always very polite, responsive and tried his best to make our stay enjoyable.
We were saddened that we couldn't have the breakfast in the main complex due to it being fully booked as the breakfast in Annexe was not great (partially microwaved food and the cleanliness was slightly alarming).
I suggest staying in the bigger room which gives you more privacy behind the windows and a space between kitchen and the bedroom.
You might see the Indian gray mongoose out of your window laying under the sun, birds singing, Indian gaurs feasting in between tea bushes and tea plantation employees picking the leaves. Hush and you experience the nature coming to you.
Of course, be prepared of troublemakers in the back yard - macaques who are curious, run all over the place and might steal something you own, therefore the windows should be closed if their group comes.
Imagine paying for a one week stay in this place and you arrive to a nicely made bed - but the linens were USED, dirty and not washed.
On top of that, on 2 separate days we caught a cockroach roaming on the floor - these insects potentially carry diseases and the fact that the kitchen was right in between two Teanest rooms in Annexe house, it's debatable if the kitchen was clean. The 2 tables in Teanest Annexe dining room were constantly dirty (breadcrumbs and other food pieces not cleaned from the tables after different guests ate there)
We were just so disappointed with the dirty sheets and raised this with the employee right away and asked for new washed sheets. They apologised but the cleaner knew what they were doing and it's just disgusting and unacceptable. It's not a cheap hostel but a hotel for which we paid over 520 EUR at the time.
This place has so much potential, it's a pity you let the basic cleanliness ruin the experience.
Nevertheless, for new guests - just check the sheets. The place surrounding Teanest was the highlight of our trip in India!

Wonderful
My first solo vacation and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay.
It was just the place I was looking for, beautiful, wonderful views around and far from the city hustle and bustle.
I stayed for 2 nights at the room called Golden Tips. It's one of the rooms within the main building and very comfortable. Breakfast was included in my stay and had a wonderful hot spread on both days. Lunch, I was out, hence didn't have. Dinner again was at the resort and since they make everything fresh, they take orders by evening 6/6.30. Loved the home cooked feel.
I booked cabs on both days from the resort itself. Vishnu helped me here a lot. The staffs at the property are courteous and very helpful. When I reached on 9th March morning, Vishnu was at the reception and he really made me feel welcome till the time my room was getting ready. I even ended up hurting my leg on the very first day ( careless of me!). Ranjit and David made sure I got a Volini spray and a crepe bandage. And I have to thank Raghu for clicking my pictures in the tea garden right across the road.
I would surely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and a wonderful stay in Coonoor.
I think the breakfast menu can be changed every day as in my 2 days of stay, it had the same things except for 2 items may be. Example, first day there were poha and upma and second day ragi sewaiyan and pongal. Rest all same. May be have puri subji one day, idli sambar one day - In India there's no dearth of breakfast options!

Very Poor
it was in the middle of tea plantation, but that‘s it
be warned that the room you book does jot look anywhere near the pictures - and when we asked they said they had to rekove the furniture. They offered a refund which of course never came. Heating was ridiculous small
