Staff were very accommodating booking tuk tuk for departure and fixing up a fantastic dinner one night. Very clean and full of character building close to the botanical garden and away from any noise

Breakfast was OK though the yogurt was not curd but flavoured
The rooms were very dowdy. One room had a very small washbasin, shabby old furniture, musty smell, duvet was ripped, very poor state of decoration. Nothing like the pictures on the booking.com site. Our main complaint is that it just was not worth the price of 4600 rupees, 2000 would have been appropriate. In fact, the rooms were advertised at 2000 on your own website that day

The location was very accessible to many places and the staff were very friendly. The food we asked to prepare was very tasty and was like what will be prepared in restaurant. Got a chance to look into kitchen it was very clean. Though property was but old from outside interior was very neat and clean.

Colonels Inn appears to be one of the many private homes in Ooty that was converted to a hotel. It has a lovely gated courtyard with reception in the stair lobby as you enter the front doors. My room was clean and simple with a double bed, a nice wardrobe closet and a table with 2 chairs and 2 small windows that let in lots of light. The bathroom was very large and nicely tiled. The location was far enough away from the central area to be very quiet (except during Mass at the nearby cathedral) but close enough for an easy walk to town or the Botanical Gardens. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant stay
Most rooms are off of a common room (such as the first floor Dining Room or the second floor Lounge) which could be a noise issue with inconsiderate guests. Also, I did not see any heaters so the common areas were a bit cold but the room was comfortable.
