Beautiful old woodwork. Nice rooftop restaurant with a view of the fort. Very clean marble floors.
The bathroom had poor ventilation and smelled foul. The toilet got clogged on our first night and no one cleaned it even after I requested cleaning next morning. The surrounding streets, including the “blue city” were extremely dirty. I was not prepared for how dirty the old parts of Jodhpur are. No one should stay here if you have a choice.

It has a beautiful interior, quirky, atmosphere and great views from the rooftop restaurant.
I was in the single room on the top floor and there was only a trickle of water from taps and shower.

A family owned place that is tucked away in an alley away from auto noise, quiet, with the upper king suite spacious and comfortable.
Location is about 500m to lower fort entrance, a nice way to enter the fort in the quiet morning.
It is about 800m to center walking past shops.
Breakfast is fair, not great, but not expensive.
The owner Mr Joshi keeps a good establishment, his son owns the Rajmandir nearby which has a rooftop restaurant with awesome fort view plus espresso coffee.
A good value for stay in Jodhpur. I stayed again on the way back from Jaisalmer.
Steep 3 flights of stairs to get to room.
If inclined asked for someone to bring heavy luggage up and down.

We spent 11 days at Juna Mahal, a charming and historic residence tucked away in the bustling heart of Jodhpur's bazaar. Our spacious, clean, and cozy room had a small balcony and access to a terrace with beautiful rooftop views, where we often spotted groups of monkeys.
Despite being centrally located, the hotel is peaceful, hidden away in a small alley. Breakfast was good, and the kind chef prepared delicious Indian vegetarian dishes, even late in the evening. Room service worked perfectly, and the young staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The owners and team spoke good English and offered great assistance.
Exploring the surrounding bazaar on foot was very challenging due to heavy traffic, constant honking, petrol fumes, and stray dogs. We mainly experienced the area from tuk-tuks when arriving or leaving the hotel.

Beautiful building and a cute room. Staff was helpful and kind. We needed to leave before breakfast to catch a train, but the staff made us a breakfast sandwich for take away. The room was located facing the indoor patio, which made it super peaceful for sleeping. AC and shower worked very well.
The hotel has a nice rooftop were you can enjoy great food and drinks.
The hotel is located in a narrow street next to the small shopping street, which can make it difficult to find the exact location (if you become easily overwhelmed with the busy passage). It will be more convenient for the taxi driver to drop you off a little bit earlier, so you can walk towards the hotel or take the tuctuc. The hotel made direction indication signs, so look for these hanging up. There is a small fence in the beginning of the narrow street, which you can open manually and sweet dogs are laying in front of the hotel entrance. Do not be afraid, as they are really calm and most of the time just sleeping.

On the rooftop is a restaurant with really good food and a view that makes you breathless. And squirrels!!!! My personal favorite ??

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Juna Mahal Boutique Home stay in Jodhpur, and it was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in India. The homestay is set in a 472-year-old heritage house, beautifully preserved and located right in the heart of the old city. The atmosphere is rich with history, yet the place is incredibly well-maintained, clean, and welcoming.
The location is fantastic—it’s very close to the train station and the adjacent bus station, making it easy to reach for travelers. The airport is also nearby and can be reached by rickshaw in under 30 minutes. However, since the homestay is deep within the narrow lanes of the old town, cars cannot reach the doorstep, so you’ll need to take a rickshaw from the main road. Thankfully, rickshaws in Jodhpur are very reasonably priced and fair—unlike in some other cities, they don’t try to overcharge tourists. The family is happy to arrange transportation for you, making the journey smooth and hassle-free.
From the moment I arrived, the family made me feel at home. Before my trip, Jimmy, the son of the family, personally contacted me on WhatsApp to confirm my arrival time, and when I got there, he was waiting for me, personally welcoming me and even carrying my bag from the rickshaw—a small but thoughtful gesture that made for a warm and memorable start to my stay.
Earlier during my trip, I had injured my knee, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. A young man named Arjun was particularly helpful; he carried my heavy bag all the way to the top floor when I arrived and again carried it back down to the main road when I was leaving, even hailing a rickshaw for me to get to the airport. Traveling alone with an injury can be challenging, but their attentive care made it much easier.
I stayed in a top-floor single room, and the view was absolutely breathtaking—you can see the entire city from there.

Excellent old time charm of a 500 to 600 year old building that has been renovated with modern amenities as a 8-room boutique hotel. Great views of Mehrangarh Fort from the terrace. Fairly decent restaurant on the terrace. Good choice of six preselected menus for hot breakfast. Very friendly staff and service. They will haul away all your luggage all the way to your room and back up and down the stairs.
As you may expect, it is a 500 to 600 year old building so it is located in a very cramped part of the town that is accessible only by autos. Cars cannot go. But fear not, the autos in Jodhpur are built and configured to take large suitcases at the back so no issues there.
There is no elevator of course and the height of the stair steps is a bit too high, maybe 12 inch steps. So it is somewhat of an effort to go up the stairs to your room. But the staff will haul all your luggage so all you have to do is take yourself up the stairs.

The room was spacious, clean, with comfortable bed I had a great nights sleep and made tea with the kettle in the morning! The breakfast was delicious on the roofdeck with a lovely view of the city. Someone from the homestead helped with my luggage and to get me a taxi the next day.
It was a little hard to find from the main street, except for a small sign.

It’s 450 years old with all antiques kept inside in maintained condition. the property from inside was kept clean. Rooftop has a view to MEHRANGARH fort but then that’s it.
The access to the property is terrible as it is amidst the Jodhpur central city. Lanes are narrow and tacky. Kitchen is not good as we saw some lizards crawling around and the food is decent. Toiletries weren’t up to the mark as no paste was provided. There was no water bottles in the room. As Rajasthan speaks highly of their hospitality I believe such things shouldn’t be skipped at all.

Our problem was that we didn't get the room that we paid for. We had booked a junior suite with 28 square meters and bathroom inside the suite, sofa, TV and other extras.
What we got was a tiny room of 9 square meters with bathroom outside of the room, no TV, Sofa etc.
During the night it was cold and we didn't have enough warm blankets. There were also some youngsters making noise half of the night.
The host was very friendly, though, and reduced the price.
