Jaya (Kitchen) was very helpful and supportive. She made sure that the food was delivered on time. Catering team on the whole was good! Kumaran from Housekeeping did an excellent job. Gym and Spa faciliaties were very good. Good WiFi.

Customer experience was excellent at all levels; from check-in, room service, staff at restaurant, spa etc. Dim Sum at Flying Elephant was yummy. Very pleased and definitely my go-to hotel when i visit chennai.

Restaurant staff Mr Ong particularly those did the serving at the tables were exceptionally polite and professional.
As a international frequent traveller, my first stay at this hotel failed to meet my expectations. The huge problem with this place is not the ambience or the quality of the rooms or the facilities in the hotel. The MAIN issue is the front line senior staff who walk around in their fancy suites and also those at the check in area. I strongly believe you need to portray a smiley face or a simple greeting when you come across a hotel guest or even ask how is your day ? I think they don't know how to differentiate guests who pay to stay in the hotel and those locals who just walk in for a visit. There is a huge difference. In my 3 nights at the hotel, not a single team leader or those who walk around the in their fancy suites acknowledged my presence. At my check in on the first day, I had requested to see the GM to offer a gift from my county but the staff did not follow through my request. The staff who check me in was not humble and reflected poor communication skills. Why is it so hard to greet your guests or even put on a smile? I had to make the first approach to speak to one of the bar manager. Nevertheless, he could not hold a conversation. To be honest, the staff LACK SOCIAL SKILLS except those staff serving at the restaurant. Staff require serious advance customer service training. There is no point depicting a 5star hotel status and have staff who lack genuineness and poor social skills. This kind of attitude is not reflected in major hotels in US, UK and even Singapore or even at the Marriott in Madurai. My stay created a sense of discomfortness and this is largely to the behaviour of what I mentioned earlier. Nothing is more irritating than not making your stay unpleasant.
