Location, cant really get much closer to Taj Mahal, just make sure to go to the east gate early.
We got a room on the literal roof that felt more like an after thought to add than actually part of the hotel. As such you could hear everything outside and night club music kept us up all night. I will say from the view of the window you could see the Taj Majal but its not worth it honestly. Room was very small and the spigot in the shower got in the way when showering partially because shower head was broken. Not too mention the sink would leak from behind whenever you washed your hands.

My wife and I had a really nice stay at the Hotel Shahjahan during our trip to Agra which started by the care of the wonderful staff who treated us like family--going above and beyond to provide great service (including driving me by motorbike to an ATM). The hotel itself is about as close to the Taj Mahal as you can get without being inside the walls (but still far enough away from the hawkers) and I can tell that a lot of care is being taken to continue to beautify the hotel. Our 4th floor room even had a view of the Taj from the window and there's definitely a future opportunity to take advantage of the rooftop for all guests. Overall a great budget stay for those looking to stay over in Agra!

For a budget hotel this is probably the best you can get this close to the Taj Mahal. The staff is so helpful and nice, the room is clean and we could see the Taj Mahal from our room.

Terrace is gorgeous, you can see Taj Mahal from there and is kind of private or just for 2 neighbours. Shower is good and bed is comfortable. AC works fine. Owner is very nice and friendly! Improvements: put some chairs and umbrella for make this nice terrace more comfortable )

It is in close proximity to Taj Mahal
One of the worst stays we had during our trip.We booked this hotel considering the location & pictures on booking.com. We were given a room on the terrace.They didn't have any lift facilities so we had to pick our luggage through their narrow staircase. The bedsheet had stains on them and the pillow cover looked yellowish. There was no landline to call the reception so if anything is required then you should climb down 3 floors. They provided 2 small water bottles which is not enough for even 1 person. The door of washroom seemed like it would fall off any moment. Room didn't had proper ventilation. Also, I would like to mention that the hotel staff continuosly urges to give positive reviews which is annoying. To people looking for accommodation near Taj Mahal I would suggest avoiding this hotel. In fact, I would suggest looking for hotels a little far from Taj Mahal as it is surrounded by slum-like areas.

Squeaky clean, big comfortable bed and bedding, tons of hot water, AC worked perfectly, 5min walk to Taj, and staff made us feel very welcome. What else do you want?? 10/10 for a great value Nice basic rooftop (they should put some chairs up there!), and restaurant should be opening soon.

I must like the supporting staff and proper guidance of the owner and staff . The size of the room was big enough.the communication skills of owner and staff really nice.I must suggest that place for visiters of taj mahal and the hotel is located just 100 mt from taj mahal
