When the receptionist learned that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, they surprised us with a very thoughtful gesture. Upon arriving in our room, we found a bottle of champagne waiting for us. It was a wonderful way to begin our stay.
About three weeks before our arrival, I made a reservation at the hotel’s Japanese restaurant. After booking, I called the restaurant to mention that we were celebrating our anniversary and asked whether it might be possible to have a nice table by the sea. The staff member responded positively, saying they had found my reservation and added a note to the booking.
The night before arriving at the hotel, I called once again to confirm the request. This time, a different staff member informed me that they could not guarantee a specific table. In the end, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were fortunately able to get the last available table by the sea.
The food and service were both excellent. My only disappointment was the inconsistency in communication. If table requests cannot actually be guaranteed, it would have been better to communicate that clearly from the beginning rather than creating expectations.
I am sharing this feedback simply because I believe a good business can always become even better. Aside from this minor issue, I would gladly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant.

Gorgeous hotel in a historic building (it used to be a Crusader Fortress that was later turned into an Ottoman jailhouse). Even though it's in the best location, there is so much to explore in the hotel itself that can keep you entertained for hours. I was upgraded to a Premium Plus room with a sea view and balcony. The room was exquisitely designed and very comfortable. There are 3 restaurants on site. Even though it wasn't open, the pool looked nice (a bit small though). Lovely spa as well. Really, you don't need to go outside at all.
The pool was closed even though Booking said it was open.
For a 5-star hotel, some of the services were sorely lacking. The bellboy at the entrance didn't ask if I needed help with my suitcases. The minibar was empty when I arrived. The phone didn't work when I tried to call reception. The toilet would run every time I flushed it. I ordered a creme brule in the lobby bar that arrived frozen. This was in the middle of a war and air raid sirens were going off every hour so I won't judge them too harshly, but some of these suggest ongoing maintenance and management problems. Having said that, every single thing I brought to their attention was dealt with immediately in a friendly and professional manner.

Very Good
The breakfast was exceptional. Healthy and plentiful food, Beautiful presentation. Very nice staff in the dining room.
Well the Setai has a plumbing problem. While I was in the lobby and in the dining room there appeared to be a leak. Also the spa has a problem with the showers not adequately draining water. Part of the problem are the horizontal drains. They look great but I have one at home and they do not preform will hair and conditioner . I need to have a plumber clean it out once a month. The application in a hotel is a problem. Also mold is forming. The materials are not holding up .

We had an amazing stay at The Setai Tel Aviv and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We booked three rooms, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The views were absolutely breathtaking—truly “wow” moments every time we looked out—and the location is unbeatable, perfectly set near Old Jaffa with easy access to everything.
The service was exceptional. The manager personally showed us the rooms, which made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for. The staff throughout the hotel were attentive, professional, and warm, always going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.
Breakfast was another highlight—the buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options and a beautiful setting to start the day. Between the atmosphere, service, views, and overall luxury, The Setai exceeded our expectations. We truly had an unforgettable time and would absolutely return
They could definitely do a better job with advertising, because this place is truly a hidden gem.

The hotel and staff were extremely nice and welcoming throughout our stay. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, accommodating, and eager to help, which really made a positive difference. While the property itself could use a major update and the rooms need some upkeep, the kindness and professionalism of the staff stood out. We especially appreciated their help with our booking and room arrangements

We had a wonderful stay and I have to tell you that Alex the manager went above and beyond right from the start. He was so engaging, kind, helpful, and just wonderful. We really enjoyed our room, the locations, and the breakfast, of course was dynamite, on par with Miami!
Honestly, I can’t think of anything!
