Very Good
I appreciated that the bunks had enough space to sit up in, and that the beds came with two pillows. The Irish brown bread at breakfast was a cosy (and delicious) touch, too! The hostel’s location made it very easy to access the shopping and eating heart of the city, and it was only a short walk to the National Park entrance.
I was concerned when I learned that dogs live there all the time (as I have allergies and asthma). I was on the third floor and didn’t have too many problems, but being closer to the animals could be problematic for some. (But the dogs are very cute and well behaved!)

Fair
The beds were clean, continental breakfast included, nice outdoor space and kitchen. Bathroom was decently clean. People staying there as guests were great.
Upon arrival, my locker was the only one with a broken locking mechanism so it could not be secured. When I brought this up to the manager, she dismissed the concern because the place is "pretty safe." I asked if there were ANY open lockers I could use and she said no (shortly after I watched her book a man a room as a walk in.) One of the staff suggested that she could go to the hardware store to replace the lock (thank you to this girl!) and eventually this is what then ended up doing, but it was unclear to me how they were going to fix the lock until I returned later in the evening and it had been replaced. Generally, I had an issue with the staff being pretty unfriendly/unwelcoming (similar to other reviews I also watched them make fun of another guest at the front desk which was weird) but I appreciate the girl that ended up helping me with the lock situation!

The garden , the staff, the home made bread, the dogs and the location .
The floor on the room was very noise when you walk, I was trying to be quiet but when you walk it is like it’s cracking. I stayed at Australia room.

Location, the way it’s decorated, the thought put into it, the kind international staff, affordable, prize, the creativity, the incredible yard, the wonderful eating area. It’s just exactly why I love hostels.
The toilet that shares a wall with the Columbia room sometimes makes a crazy noise, but you can fix it by taking off the top of the lid and moving things around. I’m sure that’s a temporary situation. Nothing else. That place was great.

This might be my favorite hostel thus far. 2 pillows, comfy bed, nice kitchen space, helpful staff, well run. Convenient to both bus stops and walking distance to part of the national park.
My room was nice and quiet, but some people complained of road noise in other rooms. The included breakfast was toast or cereal, but there were lots of yummy coffee and bakery options nearby.

Very Good
It’s a great backpackers hostel. The home made bread was likely my favorite part. The staff are very present & involved in the shared spaces (they make the bread every morning) & there for tips & a good chat. The location is perfect. They rent bikes, which you can take into the national park! (I had a car, but still very cool) there was free parking a few minutes walk away- in the lot next to st Mary’s church. The dorm beds are private, cozy, and comfy- they don’t move really at all when you’re climbing in/out which was a huge plus.
The only things are really what you’ll find at more shared hostels- the dorm room got incredibly stinky each morning (I was there for 3) as there was only one small window to ventilate. & the door slams every time someone is in and out- which woke me up several times a night. This was also the most expensive hostel I stayed in Ireland- I wouldn’t exactly call it “worth it” as I’m still shook that I spent $60/night for a bunk bed- but I believe it’s just the reality of the area.

The atmosphere was so warm and cozy and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The staff and other guests were just so kind and helpful so that also made it easy to relax and settle in. They serve breakfast from 7-11am and it’s delicious, including homemade brown bread and a variety of different cereals and other things to give you a good start to your day. They also have a kitchen with very accessible facilities where someone is always cooking, so the place smells fantastic and it adds to the comforting atmosphere. The bedroom are also comfortable and the beds each have a curtain for privacy and their own light. There are plenty of bathrooms which are very clean and functional. Overall, I wish I could just live there. Please go and stay if you have a chance.
