We arrived later than expected and their restaurant was closed. They went and made us a pizza and salad. They were kind. It was beautiful, peaceful and quite. The price was perfect. Parking is included. No stress. Great place to stay!
The only thing I dont like is no washcloths to wash with but none of the places I stayed had them so must be an ireland thing

This hotel was probably fantastic in its prime........which was about 30 years ago. It is still very serviceable, but grossly overpriced for the space. We booked 4 rooms for family, and though all were nice, they are very dated, tired, and worn. Amenities like soap and towels are present, but tiny and towels are very worn. We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, the food was fair to good, the service poor to mediocre. The front desk wasn't present in the morning until after 9am, and the 'porter' was the cleaning gal who was working on the stairs. BTW, there is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage.......Valentia is a cute little town, but even the ferry was too tired to work while we were there!
Service, worn out carpet, decor, furniture, minimal amenities in miniature sizes, worn towels, no elevator, terrible service for dinner and breakfast.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant, gorgeous views. Front desk is extremely helpful - we were running incredibly late and they were very flexible with our arrival. They also phoned immediately when one of our party left something very important behind in his room and we are extremely grateful for their fast response!

Warm, friendly, professional reception. Each staff member went out of their way to accommodate our needs.
The hotel is lovely. Nicely decorated yet comfortable.
Given the warm weather we were concerned about the room temperature. Luckily, windows opened wideky and there was a nice fan in the room to circulate the air. This was a necessity given the heatwave.
I would like to see a more diverse snd interesting menu for lunch and dinner. It seemed like the options offered were similar to every pub everywhere in Ireland. The boutique and elegant feel deserves a menu to match.

This beautiful hotel is a part of the history of the island. The place was very quiet and let us have a good night sleep. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Both were very good. The room was big, provided lots of space for three people.
We could not find hooks for the towels in the bathroom :)

Lovely classic hotel with sweeping staircase, antique furniture, historical pictures and artefacts. Perfectly located in front of Knightstown Marina with bedroom view across to the mainland. Great bar and restaurant with good selection of drinks and generous food servings. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.
Bedroom and bathroom very "compact". No net curtains for bedroom window that overlooked public outside bar area, so either blackout in room with only heavy curtains that were there, or let the world see in! Bar and restaurant staff included some members who seemed to treat guests as undesirable interruptions at times, some customer orientation training could go a long way perhaps! Housekeeping was very light and replenishment of tea/coffee/soap had to be requested. No bottles of water.

Charming old hotel and great location. ALL of the staff, reception, bar, restaurant and room staff service was above and beyond. Our room was lovely with a sitting area looking out over the water.
We went out fishing one day; the head chef prepared a beautiful and delicious meal with a couple of fish we brought back. Again, above and beyond!
No lift, but did not have to take multiple flights of stairs.

Great location and view. The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Shampoo and shower gel were provided but no hand soap. I had to use the single use shower gel. The cooked to order breakfast was excellent.

Beautiful building great location.
The beds are terrible you can actually feel the mattress buttons and same with the pillows and can we talk about the sound ? I know this is an old hotel but the paper thin walls were next level: Quiet outside (10/10 ) but you could hear people peeing above you and every yawn every giggle from the neighbors came through loud and clear. Staff was a mix of kindness at reception (but hasn’t worked their long) and quiet indifference at the restaurant with a frosty hostess and a waitress ready to get homes would not repeat
