Wonderful
The breakfast was fantastic. The staff offered a lot of really good recommendations for food and entertainment. It is a close walk to the hustle and bustle of the various districts, but far enough to not be too noisy. The room was very quiet considering the amount of other people staying that night.
The bathroom was tiny and tricky to navigate due to size.

Poor
Location is great. Walkable to tourist areas and grocery store.
Small portions for breakfast, parking is a nightmare, rooms very small, bathroom so tight no room for trash can. Staff is very young and inexperienced. Very Over-priced for what the lodging has to offer.

Good
Excellent location — just a 10‑minute walk to the West End or into the town centre. Off‑street parking, which was very convenient. Warm welcome on arrival — Russell was friendly and helped us find somewhere to watch the World Cup. Breakfast was good — fresh ingredients and decent options. Very clean — rooms and common areas were well maintained.
The Stop operates more like a small hotel than a traditional B&B, as the owners don’t live on site. Compared with other B&Bs on our trip, the experience felt less personal. We only saw Russell three times across our stay, and interactions were brief. On one occasion, he re‑introduced himself to us despite checking us in the day before, which felt a little odd. Breakfast, which is usually a highlight of B&B stays, was more chaotic than expected. Tables were often uncleared and had to be reset while guests waited, and used dishes weren’t removed before hot food arrived, leaving little space. Portions were noticeably smaller than at other B&Bs we stayed in, and the “squeeze your own orange juice” idea was fun in theory but impractical in practice. Guidance on things to do in the area was limited and tended to focus on food and drink rather than sights or experiences. Other B&Bs we stayed at offered much more proactive local insight, which made a big difference to our trip. The room itself was clean but had some practical challenges. The bathroom was extremely small, with the basin located in the bedroom, and no space for a sanitary bin. You need to do a yoga twist just to reach the toilet roll! The ventilation setup meant the bathroom light was left on daily by the housekeepers, which felt at odds with the signage asking guests to conserve energy. Towels never fully dried as a result. Finally, the property is quite noisy. We could hear guests coming and going, keys in neighbouring doors, staff arriving from around 7am, and conversations from the lounge and dining room.

Wonderful
The Stop is in a great location about 10 mins walk into Galway City. It's a shorter walk to Galway's 'Westend', where there are pubs and restaurants (Hooked is a great fish restaurant located here). It's 10 mins walk in the opposite detection to the coast, where you can walk along the seafront. Opposite The Stop is a Tesco supermarket and a small post office. The Stop is located on a main road into Galway, our bedroom was at the back so we didn't hear any road noise. Parking is behind the property, and Russell can direct you in as it's a bit complicated from the road. There's 5/6 spaces, it's a bit tight but fine. Our bedroom was small but had everything we needed. The bathroom was tiny with just a toilet and shower, albeit a double one. There's a sink in the bedroom. The breakfast was very good, with some nice choices. The property is focused on sustainability and offering organic, homemade food. The breakfast was a real USP for the property. Tea and coffee were available in the breafast room all day, and homemade biscuits were put out at around 4pm, but you had to be quick, or they were all gone! The other main USP was the location. The staff and Russell were super kind and helpful. We had a great time in Galway and were very happy we stayed at The Stop.
Bathroom a bit tight, but we managed ok. There's no TV in the building, but we didn't miss it.

There isn't much I can add to the glowing reports for The Stop. This high style boutique bed and breakfast has everything dialed in. The staff is caring and friendly. The food next level. Decor is high end. The location is wonderful. We loved walking around the local hip neighborhood with cafes, bars, restaurants, and thrift stores. An easy 10-15 minute walk into the heart of the touristy center, but we appreciate being slightly outside of it in a quieter location. Private parking behind the building was a bonus.
Our double room was small, but thoughtfully appointed. The bathroom was also tiny, but had everything you needed, just in an extremely compact footprint.

It was a beautiful little B&B that exceeded the quality offered by many big hotels. The staff were extremely polite. The location was perfect. The premises spotless. I would definitely recommend staying
