G, You Look Good to Me! An outstanding style icon on the west of Ireland hotel scene, Galway’s g Hotel has upped the style stakes even further in a dramatic one-million-euro refurbishment of its spacious foyer, signature lounges and opulent restaurant and cocktail bar. Under the direction of Leonardo Hotel Group Ireland, the five-star luxury destination on the edge of Lough Atalia has assumed a refreshing new look, distinguished by originality and the very distinct individual personas of its ground-floor spaces. Since first opening in 2005 with the pomp and ceremony surrounding its signature designer, Phillip Tracey, the g Hotel has always been a go-to place for those with an interest in fashion and design. While never shying away from standing out from the crowd the g’s use of dark and light, bold colors, large scale reflective lighting and mirrors, brash artwork and imagery nodding to the Supermodels of the day, all added up to an iconic brand that strives to never be ordinary. The Grand Salon known for its natural light, generous double height ceilings, views over Lough Atalia and the much photographed bespoke mirrored lighting installation by lighting designer Tom Dixon. The design team from GW Design wanted to maintain the chic and elegant atmosphere of the grand salon and for the room to have a feeling of subtle sophistication. A new jewel like cocktail bar, with a dramatic mirrored back bar display reflects the view of the Lough and the lighting installation. A palette of luxurious leathers and textured fabrics, in soft taupes, grays with hints of plums, create a warm and relaxing backdrop to enjoy afternoon tea or a pre-dinner drink. The G Hotel's restaurant, GEO opens out onto a new garden terrace completing the fresh botanical feel of the decor. A cocktail bar anchors the open plan room, where the walls are lined with a paradise scene of blossom with ferns, palms and leaves - a true eye catcher for guests visiting. Statement chandeliers and smoked mirrors draw the eye through the restaurant with a subtle sparkle and a palette of olive greens, and accents of coral and an abundance of greenery complete the new theme of GEO. The Hotel’s two other Signature Lounges evoke glamor and luxury but with a more subtle hint. The Pink Room evokes class and intrigue with blush pink velvets, tasseled chairs and brass accents create a luxurious feel. In contrast is the Blue Room with its color palette of ginger, charcoal, and rich timber. A texture palette of leathers, timber and fabric wall paneling make this an inviting lounge to linger in. Our Thermal Suite area should be a part of your spa journey. Please note that numbers are limited to preserve the spa experience for all guests. All treatments and Thermal Therapy must be booked In advance of arrival. Residents €25.

Wonderful
Breakfast was great and the Spa was also great. Location was very central and even easy to walk in to central Galway. All staff were very helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately when we were there the fitness center was being remodeled. Access to a fitness center is a key requirement when I am travelling so this was a challenge, and it did not seem the hotel had made an arrangement with another facility close by during the remodel.

The G Hotel is simply wonderful! Everything about it is comfortable, high end (the shower is amazing!). We could not have picked a better option for our family trip to Galway. The staff is fantastic and so friendly! Especially Lucia and Ignacio at the front desk, and Ricardo, Glen, and Collin at the restaurant. The Spa was also very relaxing. Check in, check out were super smooth, hotel was quiet, very well located, food was good. Absolutely loved out stay! Thank you all for making this trip so special to our family!
Absolutely no complaint!

Poor
Bed was comfortable.
Valet parking €25 euro, not secure, open public free car park at back of hotel and no one to get car in morning so told to go out back door to get car. Only found out where parked. A real scam! Charged extra €50 to use spa told this was extra as booked room through booking.com. Was not told extra until checking out. Spa was very dark and seemed grubby ..relaxation room windows filthy and towels on beds stained... Cushion on bed in room all stained and grubby. Extra 75€ in fees..as booked room cheaper on booking.com. Basically, I was told this at checkout,, and I was also told the manager would be in contact with me. I'm still waiting. I doubt there is one! Everything looks great on the ground floor. Looks can be deceiving.

Very Good
Good hotel, big room, big bathroom. Grate breakfast. Grate personal in the reception.
Not new, for example, the bathroom needs reform. The cleaning must be better. It was a small stone on the floor in the bathroom all 6 days. I suppose, nobody washed a floor in the bathroom during all this time. The Spa needs reform as well.

Good
It was a really nice hotel and it’s not too far out of the city. The spa and facilities were really good. Parking is available also.
The hotel is more styled around afternoon tea vibes, which was not something we were looking for. We ended up spending most of our time in the city where there was more of an atmosphere.

Very Good
Lovely, spotlessly clean and charming hotel.
Would love a pool. Breakfast was ok. Much better and more relaxed when it was buffet and service. For a 5 star hotel fresh orange juice and hot food are basics.
