Wonderful
Location was great since we wanted to park away from the city center but could easily take a bus 20 minutes to downtown. It was pretty quiet at night and felt safe.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable for 2 people and there was no free coffee, but those were minor issues compared to the good value and friendly staff.

Exceptional
Great location with free parking and within a few minutes from bus stop. Staff were super friendly and kind. Bus ride into Dublin City Center was 20 minutes and well worth the trade off of finding parking.

Ideal location. Bus stop right across the road brought us straight to phoenix park. Staff were all super friendly.
It’s a little dated. In our room there were holes in the wall filled in but not painted.

Wonderful
The staff were the biggest selling feature - VERY helpful and hardworking
the bed was a double - we are used to a larger bed. The bathroom was small.

Good
The staff were lovely and helpful.
The room was large and had clearly been refurbished in recent times.
The shower had great pressure and everything was spotlessly clean.
The WIFI was fast and free.
The fired breakfast was one of the best I've had in a long time.
The public areas in the hotel are a bit dated. It felt like I was in the 80s again. The rooms however are all very modern.
The doors have actual keys, no keycards. Which is a bit annoying when you have to take it with you.
There is almost no soundproofing between the rooms. I'm a light sleeper and my neighbour woke me a few times when he coughed. I could here the TVs in other rooms too. People leaving early in the morning could be heard getting ready as well.
There isn't any air conditioning. Just a window and a huge radiator. But it's not an issue most of the time in Ireland.

Mary, the receptionist was very helpful with information about Dublin, the bus services and how to navigate the city. The bus stop was right by the hotel with return about 1 block away. The National Museum was excellent (and free) and the Temple Bar area is fun.
Basic hotel with basic furnishings. REPLACE THE SKELETON KEYS!!!!!! Book tours in advance. Everything in Dublin was booked for 2 days.

Disappointing
The staff were all extremely friendly.
The hotel is dated and rundown, the actual bedroom was a good size but had the smallest double bed I’ve ever seen, the bathroom was tiny with the loo stuck in a corner and the loo roll holder digging into your arm, the door key is an old fashioned key on a large key chain, the carpets are musty and need replacing in the whole building especially the stairs where the carpet is held together with duct tape in the steps to the first floor, the hotel bar had absolutely no atmosphere with radio nova playing on Friday night and not even background music on Saturday, the breakfast room is dismal with dirty windowsills and cheap plastic flowers in dusty vases dotted around , the juice glasses are worn and dirty, horrible old wooden furniture and cheap laminate floor that needs replacing, main doors to the building have no push or pull signs on the doors to give an idea of which door to open, the lift is an old style where you have to open a door to enter.
