had a wonderful stay at this hotel — it’s full of charm and character. While the decor is a little dated, it only adds to the cozy, nostalgic atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything was well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I’d happily stay here again.

Disappointing
Good helpful staff, good location.
Looks very run down on the outside. Very tired decor in rooms. My floor was uneven and the carpet was ancient. Dull menu.

Wonderful
The staff were the biggest selling feature - VERY helpful and hardworking
the bed was a double - we are used to a larger bed. The bathroom was small.

Good
The staff were lovely and helpful.
The room was large and had clearly been refurbished in recent times.
The shower had great pressure and everything was spotlessly clean.
The WIFI was fast and free.
The fired breakfast was one of the best I've had in a long time.
The public areas in the hotel are a bit dated. It felt like I was in the 80s again. The rooms however are all very modern.
The doors have actual keys, no keycards. Which is a bit annoying when you have to take it with you.
There is almost no soundproofing between the rooms. I'm a light sleeper and my neighbour woke me a few times when he coughed. I could here the TVs in other rooms too. People leaving early in the morning could be heard getting ready as well.
There isn't any air conditioning. Just a window and a huge radiator. But it's not an issue most of the time in Ireland.

Older hotel with friendly staff, and decent breakfast. Very good shower with good hot water and appropriate power.
only having one, very large key.

Wonderful
The hotel is obviously from the sixties, early-seventies judging by the design, but the good-sized rooms have been recently renovated. Cleaned every day with fresh towels (not totally necessary) Bathroom modernised with a decent shower. Breakfast excellent, if you like a full stomach in the morning! Friendly staff. a fifteen minute walk to the local village for sone non-touristy pubs, the bus opposite took you to the centre of town, also in fifteen minutes. The hotel itself has a large restaurant/bar.
The hotel can't do anything about the bus service but there can be a bit of a wait. They should consider using more modern locks on the guestroom doors as the keys are a bit awkward and you could hear other guests fumbling around to open their doors. I realise this is quite expensive. But these are minor and I would stay again

Old style, quiet hotel outside the busy city but easily accessible by bus or taxi. The room was clean and comfortable. The bar lunch was old style carvery but tasty and a large portion which was value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful.
No residents' bar...we returned about 11.30 after a concert in the city but couldn't get a drink...

The staff were great, room was great - if i knew buses better, it would be easier to get to the location.
nothing, the bar seating area is slightly dated , but was still nice. The price was fine for Dublin prices.
