The concierge was super helpful upon our departure, and couldn’t have helped more.
The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable The breakfast was disappointing, v poor choice, as a vegetarian the choice was mushrooms and potatoes. For £700 per night we felt it was not as we expected. Only scrambled egg, no beans, tomatoes, hash browns etc. The first morning there was no hot water, we called at 9.45. Someone arrived at 11.45, after we had to wait an hour and try again. Room was pleasant but not outstanding, toilet was loose and made a noise when used. Toiletries were screwed to the wall, and difficult to use.

The College Green Hotel is located within walking distance to many of the great sites and attractions. It is located just next-door to Trinity College and the Book of Kells and across the street from the Irish whiskey museum. The temple bar area was just one block away. The rest of the city was easy to access by bus, tram, and taxi. The staff is friendly and responsive.

The location was very good.
The hotel is rated 5 stars, which I confirmed with the front desk but we didn’t get a turn down service. One of the criteria of 5 star hotels. Our friends were told it was only for Marriott Platinum members. The pillows were very uncomfortable. When I asked the concierge if the lovely upstairs bar with open fire which served afternoon tea was open for drinks in the evening, he told me yes. When we arrived after an early dinner, it was all locked up and receptionist told us it closed at 7 pm and she didn’t know who had told us otherwise. The Mint Bar had a pub look but no atmosphere. The front desk staff didn’t apologise for any of this or make any attempt to rectify my issues and disappointment.

Location, beautiful hotel room, bedding and bathroom superb. Staff were friendly and efficient.
There was some building work taking place next door so there was drilling and hammering going on during the day. Nothing too loud but enough to stop a nap.
