comfy room
Staff did NOT meet special instructions. In order to arrive @ 6am and be accommodated, I was told to book the day before. I did that - I PAID FOR AN ENTIRE DAY so I could check in early.
HOWEVER - staff CANCELED by ENTIRE reservation and clocked me as a NO SHOW
THEN - despite my simple request for a quiet room, b/c I was on a bereavement visit - they IGNORED IT
I was given the NOSIEST room in the hotel - it had a horrible view of mechanical equipment that filled the whole alley, then it was also the glass recycling bins - and it's like a frat house every night!
After 2 days of non operating key cards, Staff was a bit demeaning...offering a free coffee one day. The next day, for my troubles they offered a small box of treats - which I took, but returned after I was once again, locked out of the room b/c even lock battery went dead and I was locked out for 20 minutes! coffee and candy just doesn't cut it after that. I demanded a better room. On my way out the next day, I said, "I look forward to my room change this afternoon" and the clerk asked why - I told him to check with the mgmt. from the previous night. Thanks for being kind guys - but you wouldn't have to apologize, if the job was done right.
My reservation cancelation, unquiet accommodations, late arrival, key card issues were only handled as pocket problems - and was not spread across management so everyone was aware.
Communication is GOOD Temple Bar Hotel - I did my part - I checked and double checked with staff to make sure the extra late (or super early) check in was processed and I would be expected AND I paid for that accommodation - staff lack of communication between shift mgrs. could have had me on the street w/o a reservation that I made weeks in advance.
Unacceptable

The location
The room has mold in the bathroom and the bedroom ceilings. The fan in the bathroom did not work, the windows had a breeze, it didn’t feel clean. It felt outdated and needed updating

Pleasant
As I said earlier they were having problems in the complete Hotel with TV and Internet they knew about the problem and that it was their fault therefor the room was not as advertised. In my opinion they should have offered something for the inconvenience ie a free breakfast or something ....as an genuine apology.

Disappointing
location good.
the room wasnt that big. was quiet tho for being near the bars.
tv did not work, we only got bbc1. the smart tv no luck. the bathroom was very dated. they have plastic non slip stips stuck down on the bath that looked grotty under the strips where they was not stuck down properly.
the location was good just really let down by the hotel room its self.

The location was perfect. Convenient to everything.
It was a bit noisy, but that was to be expected. They do provide free ear plugs, which was great!

The breakfast was fantastic, the locations was ultra centric and the staff was great
The rooms and building is old, but the lobby and main areas are really well kept. I only had an issue with our room. The bathroom was dirty, the shower floor had hairs and was dirty and clearly old with browned cracks, the shower knobs were broken and fell off and the bathroom floor and toilet seat where dirty as well. The window's lock was broken and didn't seal shut, so we we could hear the noise from the street throughout the whole night. The room size and beds were overall ok. But for the price of the stay which was over $500 for two nights, I expected better.

Very Good
The location is great for a weekend in Dublin, we could walk to all attractions. There's a lot of restaurants and Pubs in the area. Rooms were really clean and confortable.
There's a lot of noise and light coming into the room (curtains are not the best and there's a live music pub downstairs)

Wonderful
The front desk staff were very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed the location, staying right in the heart of Dublin.
We were on the first floor above the pub and it was quite loud on the first night we stayed. We also did not have a view out the window as the room looked out onto the mechanical equipment on the roof. There was also a water leak by the front door that soaked the carpet and caused a musty smell in the room.

Poor
Room was a decent size
There was mold growing on bathroom walls and ceiling and in the bedroom ceiling, terrible conditions for a 300 euro stay. The fixtures were falling off wall in bathroom and no soap provided. Hotel generally looked tired and dated for the price tag.

Can not beat the location for walkability to many major attractions.
The hotel staff were friendly and professional and very helpful. As a single woman traveling alone, I felt very safe and well cared for at the hotel.
The breakfast was delicious and fresh and after a morning or two, the staff greeted me with my “regular” hot drink. Wonderful!

Good
Great location right in Temple Bar area, close to everything and within walking distance.
We were on the second floor and there is a sports bar attached to the hotel that is open and plays music until at least 2am so we didn’t get too much sleep.
