Wonderful
What a lovely stay! The Marine Hotel is ideally located right on the bay in Sutton, just a short walk to the train station and surrounded by beautiful scenery. We even spotted sea lions by the shore! The coffee and dinner menu were excellent, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the sunset walks on the beach were spectacular and romantic. A charming and convenient seaside escape — can’t wait to return!

Excellent location right on the water.
Booked through booking.com. We selected and paid for a king bed. The description even provides the bed size, “72-80.” The hotel does not offer any beds in that size; ours was 60-80. It’s a nice hotel and we enjoyed it, but would have selected another location had we known.

Good location. Outside of the main city center, so more convenient to Co Meath attractions
We experienced several disappointing issues during our stay. For two out of the three nights, there was no hot water in my room— only ice-cold showers. Despite notifying the front desk, the problem was not resolved.
The bathrooms are extremely small, comparable to those on a cruise ship, with virtually no space for toiletries aside from a single narrow glass shelf.
Noise was another major concern. The hotel doubles as a wedding venue, and on all three nights, guests returned late from festivities, loudly talking (thin-walled adjoining rooms), making it very difficult to get any rest.

I loved the room and the bath. I even had a swim and a sauna. The place is right next to the sea which was great to see. I explored the sand at low tide and I felt the whole experience was a type of overdue pampering.
I only booked one night and it was fully booked the next night so I had to find another place. If this is your sort of place, then I recommend staying more than one night. The late checkout was something I could not utilise because I needed to pick my son up from the airport for sightseeing.

great location and central to Malahide and Howth which we thoroughly enjoyed.
An easy train ride into Dublin.
Would have enjoyed more time to explore the hikes on the cliffs - next time!
And the scones are delicious!

The view was amazing and the location was great. Fiona at the front desk was very helpful and really great.
Our hotel room had no way to adjust the temperature and even with the room heater off and the small window open the whole way it was extremely hot and uncomfortable. They did have a table top fan in the room and we had it going the whole time. would not stay there again due to this.

Swimming pool
Breakfast was poor. Very low on food and very slow on topping it up. Cooked items were cold. No pastries were brought out. Staff didn’t seem to be interested in looking after us. We had to ask for coffee.
