Disappointing
The location wasn’t very central but at least the city center was at a walkable distance that felt safe during the day and there were some nice restaurants nearby and a nice upscale grocery store.
The list is long unfortunately. They do not have AC and many of the windows don’t open very much. I was in a top floor room that was just swelteringly hot all through the night even though it wasn’t even very hot during the days (temperatures outside reached a high of 28 on the hottest day, evenings were in the high teens). We asked for a fan but it didn’t do much and one wasn’t sufficient for a room with 15 bunks. I also believed that I would be in a room with double bunks because that’s what all the pictures show on Booking.com, but mine had triple bunks which meant more people than I anticipated, more heat, AND the bunks being stacked 3 high meant I couldn’t sit up in my bottom bunk because there wasn’t room, and I’m not especially tall. I banged my head a lot and generally found it a little claustrophobic which contributed to the heat problem too. Finally, while we had an en suite with two showers and two toilets, something was actively leaking the whole time even though several people told the front desk about it. One of the toilets didn’t flush at all but they didn’t put a sign up so when we got a new person in the room they would use it. And I was told one of the showers didn’t work but I always used the other. The bathroom had no ventilation and was even hotter than the room, very humid, and the floor constantly covered in puddles from the poorly positioned showers and the leak. It really was not a good experience and I had stated previously at Clink I Lar, which is much more central, had better bunks, smaller rooms, for roughly the same price, and they had AC. I thought I would try Generator as something new, and because I liked the Generator in Amsterdam, but this was truly a terrible experience. The whole building was uncomfortably warm so I spent all day outside and at night had to sleep with a wet towel on top of me or I wouldn’t have slept at all.

The location was great. The prices at the bar/restaurant were decent. The room was spacious.
The property has loud music blaring most of the time. The metal bunk beds made loud bangs throughout the night anytime someone shifted in their bed. The bathroom was dirty. The hostel will not allow early check ins which didn’t work for our early international flight arrival.

I was given 2 rooms that didnt have clean beds upon entrance but the 3rd room was serviced. I lost an hour of my time at check in just navigating to possible rooms

A hygienic chicken coop with fancy wordplay.
It was hot in the room as compared to the outside temperature and the opening of the window could not be properly adjusted. The bathrooms and toilets were practical enough but quite far from the dormitories.
